"We need another sacrifice.."

"Aren't there two girls?"

"The one on the floor? It doesn't seem to work on her.."

"What!? Why?"

"We need to hurry.. The Lord is impatient."

The faint echo of their voices, ears somehow peaking up on every word they spoke. Lord? They've been working for someone?

My vision was blurred as I try to discern my surroundings through the half open side of my eyes, cheeks cold against the floor as I lay sprawled there.

My eyes barely make out the dark figures, surrounding me. And it takes a few moments to recall what has previously happened.

"Mina?" I call, sitting up as I rub my eyes. I see a pair of boots walk towards me and it crouches down so I could get a view of it's golden laced mask.

"You must be Hye." The words leave his mouth casually. He leans in, eyes capturing mine as it searches my soul. As he does, I can't help but notice the once fire in his eyes downed by ice, cold and stoney as he stared at me.

I noticed all their eyes were like that, frozen, devoid of emotion.
What had cause them to become like this?

He blink, his eyes momentarily covered by shield of his eyelashes.
He looks away, standing to his feet once again. "I get it now.."

"Get what?" I ask, grabbing the wall for support as I stood up. I notice the 'unknown' guy leaning against the wall.

"She doesn't fear." The golden mask figure states simply, refocusing his gaze back onto me. His hand reach for my head, grasping a handful of hair.
"You wanna know how we compel people?"

"We evoke fear." He whispers, and I slightly groan in pain as his hands grip my hair tighter.

"Too bad, i'm not scared." I mutter through gritted teeth, forcing a smirk. He scoffs, his hands harshly releasing my hair.

"Where's Kai? And Mina?" I did what you asked." I glance towards the 'unknown' guy, hoping for some reaction or answer, but he gives none.

Another figure, adorning a bunny mask, elicits a dark chuckle. "Don't worry about them.."

I clenched my fist, my eyes burning in fury. "Give them back."

Three of the cloaked men look down at me, the arrogant glint in their eyes pissing me off. One had hearts decorated on his mask, the other had stars, and the third one had a peculiar snake symbol embedded next to his eye.

They ignore my request, turning their back into me as they walk into the shadows. "So annoying, we'll have the Lord deal with you.."

"Who the fuck is Lord?"

Two more of the cloaked men are left, leaning against the wall as they watched me with expressionless eyes.

"Shall I finish her off? She knows tos much.." The figure turns to me, giving me a clear look of a lightening spear engraved onto his mask. A pocket knife twirled at the tip of his fingers.

"That won't be necessary" the tear mask looks up, flicking some hair which cascaded onto his mask. "I'll deal with her. You go ahead."

The lightening mask hums in response, and with a flick of his long cloak he disappears.

When he leaves, the 'unknown' guy turns towards me, gaze locking with mine.

His eyes look brown from afar but as he nears , I notice the colour of honey.
I flinch when he suddenly grabs my wrist, eyes flashing in burning intensely as he leans towards my face.

"Get outta here." He whispers into my ear, the hood of his cloak flickering gently in the air.

My eyes widen. "But what about Kai-"

"I said, go." He repeated through gritted teeth.

Eventually I take a step back, wondering what the motive was behind his actions, and make a run for it disregarding the countless thoughts which nagged my mind.

I was sitting on my bed, guilt superseding any other emotion I was feeling.
Not only I failed to rescue Kai, but also led an innocent girl into a trap.

I wipe my tears with my sleeve before turning to my phone.
