I wake up to the birds singing outside and the tree leaves twirling in the wind, the sun shining through my windows. Just another day to wake up before the alarm goes off and to enjoy the fresh air of the morning which enters the room in a refreshing breeze. I sit up, take a hairbrush from my nightstand and start brushing my long black locks, being careful to brush out every single strand and to not forget any stray hair. I then put the hairbrush back in its place and— Oh, my manners! I'm so sorry, I do tend to get quite immersed in my poetic thoughts. I am Satis Pulchritudo, a 3rd year Pomefiore student, and the famous Lady Pulchritudo of Night Raven College. I am known as the fairest woman there is; with pale skin, slightly wavy black hair which goes down to my waist, black eyes, a kind personality, and perfect grades. Most students were in love with me at least once. Nevertheless, I try to be kind to everyone and to treat everyone equally.
Today is one of those days my mood is particularly good, so I get out of bed, dress in my school uniform, grab my bag and leave early. On my way out, I pass the Dorm Head who is just leaving his room for breakfast.
"Come, you're not joining us?" He asks.
"I'm still quite full from yesterday, thank you very much." I smile.
"Not wearing makeup again, I see." He remarks, inspecting my face.
"I never wear makeup or style up my hair, and you should get used to it." I reply.
He mumbles something I don't catch.
"Sorry, what?" I politely ask.
"Nevermind, it's not important. I must leave before anyone makes a mess in the kitchen in my absence." He replies before biding his goodbyes and walking off in the direction of the dining hall.
After walking for a bit more, I reach the big entrance of the dorm. In the doorway, I notice Rook walking towards me, looking as if he just came from a long night of stalking.
"Ah, didn't expect to run into you here so early, Belle Reine." He bows, taking his hat off his head, before resuming his original position.
"Moi non plus, mon cher." I smile.
"How have you been? Pas de soucis, j'espère?" He asks enthusiastically.
"Je me porte très bien, merci."
"That's good." He nods.
"You were out and about again, I see?" I raise a brow teasingly.
"Yes, an—um—a refreshing walk before sunrise." He replies uneasily.
"I know what you were up to, mon cher, no need to lie to me. Vous savez que je n'aime pas quand vous me mentez."
"Je suis désolé." He looks down at his feet guiltily, "Je ne le ferais plus."
"You know very well that you would, so no empty promises either, please."
He looks up with a chuckle, "Alright then, I suppose that I have been caught. Je vous souhaite une bonne journée, Belle Reine."
"À vous aussi, mon cher." I nod and pass him, walking off towards the mirror room.
Having arrived at the school, I make my way to Mr. Trein's classroom where my first lesson of the day, history, is going to take place. As expected, nobody is here yet at this hour.
"And may I ask what brings you here this early, Miss Pulchritudo?" Asks the teacher as I appear in the doorway.
I make my way to my seat and sit down before speaking, "I wasn't in the mood for breakfast so I decided to come to class early." I explain.
"Well, as long as you stay quiet, I have no objection to that." He says before going back to what looks like grading papers.
As I am about to take out my phone and earphones to listen to music, a panting Epel runs in the classroom. Upon noticing me, he lets out a cry of victory and comes up to me.
I raise a brow at him.
"I...asked Rook...where you were...and he said...you...already left." He says in between heavy breaths, "Vil...was...chasing me...and yelling...that my uniform...was not well...put on."
"So you sought my protection?" I clarify.
He nods, "Exactly. I think...I hear...him."
And he was right, for the Housewarden came in the classroom as Epel was finishing his sentence.
"What do you think you're doing, running off like that!?" Vil spoke angrily.
"You might want to be quieter." I say, indicating an irritated Mr. Trein with a slight jerk of my head.
"Apologies." He bows lightly in the direction of the teacher, before coming towards us.
"I'm sorry..." Epel mumbles, apearing scared but annoyed.
"You think you can get away with a simple apology? If you do, then you're mistaken." Says the Dorm Leader sternly, "How many times do I have to tell you: things like that—"
I put a hand out to interrupt him before he starts his three hour long telling off.
"Not now, Vil."
"But—" He protests.
"No buts. I'll take care of it." I shake my head lightly, placing a hand on Epel's shoulder.
"Fine." He sighs before grumpily making his way out of the classroom.
"Thank you, senpai!" The young boy bows with a relieved expression.
I smile, "Anytime."
