Dove's room was just like a picture you would find on Pinterest and smelled like roasted marshmallows. She had a queen-size mattress with 10 huge fluffy pillows (that you wanted to rest your head on with Dove) and one of those walls with polaroid pictures of you and her. Unlike you, Dove's mom was very nice and had a plate of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies waiting for the both of you. She almost loved you as if you were her own child.
"Hey, guys! How was school today?" Dove's mom asked.
"Oh, you know how it is same old same old." You said in between shoving cookies in your mouth. Dove thought you looked beautiful while you were shoving cookies in your mouth, but you didn't know it. You knew you weren't going to get fed tonight by your mom. It's not that she didn't have money, it's just that she hated you.
You got home and your mom turned around in a chair really dramatically.
"WHERE THE **** HAVE YOU BEEN, YOU STUPID IDIOT CHILD!?" mom screeched.
" I WAS BUSY MOM, I WAS AT DOVE'S HOUSE!" you responded.
" NOW GET TO YOUR CHAMBER!!" mom yelled.
"Ugh mom," you said as you walked down into the basement.
Out of nowhere, the phone started screaming, the screen read "chad." You answered the phone wondering what in the world he wanted at this hour.
" WHAT THE HECK BABE! YOU SAID YOU WOULD COME TO MY PRACTICE!," he yelled, causing your ears to ring.
"I was busy. You don't own me Chad. WE'RE OVER. I LIKE DOVE BETTER ANYWAYS." Your face burned red as you realized you had admitted your one and only secret.
"Oh that's gay, I'm gonna blackmail you."
"NOOOOOO I DIDN'T MEAN THAT!!!" you screamed. It wasn't enough. Sweat beat down from your head. Why did you say that? You spent the rest of the night in tears, dreading that Dove would be told about your secret crush on her. Would your friendship ever be the same again? The sun rose, spilling light through the window and onto your mom's head.
"GET UP AND MAKE ME BREAKFAST RIGHT NOW OR I'LL PUT A WATER GUN TO YOUR HEAD!!!" You woke up. It was finally morning.
