Just the way things work..

Chapter 1: Cancer

. Sarah's POV

Hey guess what... i have some bad news. It all started last week, i found out something something i wish i never knew.. I went to the doctor and he told me that i was dieing of cancer. I didn't really know how to feel; my feelings all had anger sadness.. I wish that i was never diagnosed with cancer i wanna live to see my daughter's kids grow up and be something wonderful in the world.

Hadley's POV

I was driving my car when i got a call from my mom "Hadley?" "Yes mom?" I said.. "I just got news from the doctor.." I heard her say my heart was racing was she going to die is she all better?!!  "WHAT MOM WHAT DID THEY SAY??" I found myself shouting. "They said i came back positive for cancer and i might only have 5 more years to live..."  I felt my heart stop WAIT NO MY WHOLE WORLD STOP. I was balling i couldn't believe my mom had cancer she was going to die.. My mom said "HOney calm down." i cut her off "NO MOM YOU'RE GOING TO DIE." I said my best without crying even harder i failed i was crying harder than i was before.

Sarah's POV

"NO MOM YOU'RE GOING TO DIE." is all i hear my daughter say while crying.. i feel so bad i have to put my family through all of this, i try to calm her down as much as i can. "Sweety to you remember when i used to sing to you?" I ask her trying to get her mind off topic. "Yes." i hear her say I start to sing my little angel "My little angel all dressed in white trying to get to heaven on the end of a kit the kit broke and down she fell instead of going to heaven she went to." I hear her laugh on the other end of the phone "Haha mom i love that song.." I hear her say.

Hadley's POV 

I hear my mom singing to me on the other end of the phone i start to laugh "Haha mom i love that song." But then i remember that she sang that to me as a little girl and this might be the last time i hear it. "Mom?" I say "Yes dear?" "I'm gonna go i'm in the car i'll see you when i get home.." "Okay drive safe" And with that i hung up and drove home.

1 Hour later Hadley's POV

I was angry at my mom but I love her I found myself driving to the liquor store buying two bottles of Jack Dailies Honey.. I got in the car and went to a friends house to stay the night. "Hey Kora?" "Yes Hadley" "I'm on my way to stay i need your support." "Okay just walk in when you get here." "Okay" is all i could say and hung up...

Sarah's POV

Hadley said she would be here in a hour she isn't back yet. I whisper wondering if my daughter is alive, "RING" "RING" I rush to my phone hoping it wasn't the hospital calling saying that they have my daughter.. "Hello?" I say with a lump in my throat.. "Hey mom i'm staying at Kora's Tonite." "Ohh Thank god" I whispered to myself "Okay just call me when you come home" "Fine" she said is and hung up  she angry at me is she upset?? OF COURSE SHE'S UPSET I yell. I got up and walked to my room and got in my bed and went to sleep.

Hadley's POV 

I was in my friend kora's house drinking down the bottle of Jack Daniels Honey She told me "Drinking won't solve your problems.." I just said "I want to lose every memory I've ever had of everything.." She just layed beside me and cuddled me as i cried into the crick of her neck.

Next morning :Sarah's POV

I got up and checked my phone "New Message" I opened it.. "Mrs.Bowman we are sorry to say you might not live 5 years after all.... You test results state that your cancer is spreading to your liver, we need to do surgery on May 11, 2015 Contact us when you're ready..

Hadley's POV

I woke up with a really bad hangover "UGGGH WHY DID I DRINK THAT MUCH??!!" I look over realizing my friend Kora was right beside me all night "what a good friend" I thought to myself.

Kora's POV

\I look over see that Hadley is already awake yelling that she had a bad hangover i tried to tell her last night not to drink that second bottle that she would regret it. I open my eye's and asked her if she wanted any breakfast.. "YES PLEASE" She said and with that i got up, got dressed and went to my car to go get some IHop. I already knew what she wanted we have been friends since 5th grade and now were 21 in college. I walk up to the lady whose name tag reads Barbara and asked her for two chocolate chip pancakes   with whip cream and A LOT of syrup! She told me that my total would be 6.53.. That's great cause i only had 10$ in my pocket. I payed for my food then got a togo box and went home.

Hadley's POV

I hear Kora's car pull in the driveway i'm so hungry i could eat a cow! I say out loud. "Hadley!" I hear Kora say "YES!! FOOD!!!!!" I yell running into the kitchen and saying "GIMME GIMME"  I pick up my fork and start eating my Chocolate chip pancake! My most favorite pancake ever! I feel my phone buzz "New message" "From Mom" I feel my heart stop i slowly pick up my phone and open the message.  "Hadley I need you to come home ASAP i need to tell you something IMPORTANT" I Gasp what if she is hurt " Kora I need to go i'll be back tomorrow maybe sooner." "Its Okay i understand Love yah Sis" "I Love yah t00 Sis" And with that i was out the door.. I arrived home maybe 20 minutes after she had text me. i run through the door "MOM MOM ARE YOU OKAY" I yell really loud

Sarah's POV

I had a really bad headache so i decided to go to bed.. "MOM MOM ARE YOU OKAY" I hear i just laid in bed and waited for my daughter to find me.. "MOM are you okay?? do i need to call the Doctor??!!!" "No i'm good i just needed you to come home so i could tell you that i might not live as long as you expected as anyone expected.."   I felt tears in my eyes trying to be strong in front of my daughter, She just looked at me with a puzzled look on her face.

Hadley's POV 

i just needed you to come home so i could tell you that i might not live as long as you expected as anyone expected.."   What i couldn't believe what my mom just said to me i felt hot tears running down my face.. it burned so much in my heart i felt everything piercing throughout my body all at once..

"No mom no please stay with me don't leave you can't die!" I Shout but also whisper tears just keep pouring from my eyes. "Sweety." She said "Yes mom?" i responded "Just remember if i do die i will always be in your heart, and no matter what i need you to be strong!"I found myself falling to the floor and everything just goes BLACK...

Sarah's POV

I look over at my daughter on the floor unconscious i run to her! "HADLEY HADLEY WAKE UP PLEASE!!" She didn't wake up i rush to the phone and dial 911 "911 what is your emergency?" "Help my daughter is unconscious she won't wake up!" "Don't worry ma'am we are on our way with an ambulance" I hold my daughter in my arms waiting for the ambulance to arrive
