Virtual Love

My name is Cody, and I have two goals in life: getting accepted into a good college, and finding someone who will love me for me. Lucky for me that my grades were high enough for allow me to get into any college, and as for the finding someone part, I do have a crush on someone.

Her name is Sandy, and she is the most popular girl in school. Guys have tried asking her out before, but she turned them down. I always thought she was waiting for the right guy to ask her out, and I hope that it is me.

She started to come in my direction. I took a deep breath and called out to her.

"Excuse me, Sandy? Do you have a moment?" I asked. My nerves were beginning to get to me already.

"Make it quick." She replied. "I don't have all day."

"Right."

I took a deep breath before pouring out my feelings to her.

"So... ever since we first met, I've always had a crush on you, and I was wondering... if you wanted to be... my girlfriend?"

Instead of giving me a simple yes or no response, Sandy ended up laughing at me and so did the other students.

"W-What's so funny?" I asked nervously. Here it comes...

"Let's get something straight here, nerd." She said. "I am the most popular girl in school, and you are... just an ugly nerd."

Hearing that was starting to hurt. My mom said I should be proud of how I look like, but now, I am starting to question myself a bit.

"You couldn't get a girl to love you even if you try." One of Sandy's friends said to me. Very hurtful...

"Nah, not even his own mother would love him." The other friend said, and Sandy started laughing even harder. 

"I think... you girls made your point." I tried to say, but they weren't interested in what I had to say.

"Yeah, whatever, nerd."

The girls walked away, and I was just standing feeling completely embarrassed. I mean, come on... what was I thinking?

Moments later...

I couldn't believe that Sandy would hurt me like that, in front of her friends and the whole school. Because of what she did, I felt heartbroken, and I'll never find that feeling of love again.

"Can't this day get any worse?" I asked myself.

And believe it or not, it actually did get worse. As I was walking across the street, I heard a car coming towards me at fast speed. Feeling fear, I just stood there, unable to move out of the way.

Crash

The car hit me and I was laying down in the road covered in my own blood. However, it was while I was out cold, when something... interesting happened.

Moments later...

I slowly opened my eyes and I found myself looking up at the ceiling of an unknown house. Who lives here? And how did I even get here? I sat up and looked around, and then I heard some footsteps. Appearing before me was a female with snow white hair, and blue eyes.

"Oh, I am so happy that you're awake now." She said and she gave me a smile.

"Umm, hi... whoever you are." Although I have a weird feeling that I have seen her somewhere before.

"My name is Barbara, and I have a drink for you." She said and she gave me a bottle of water.

"Oh, thank you."
