You don't like parties. Never did, unless there's just your friends, and most parties aren't like this. You also don't like saying no though, which is why you're at some 1-B kid's birthday party right now, and it's suffocating. There's so many people, and you feel like they're all staring at you, there's so many lights, and so much noise, and too much of everything. You wish you could just melt into the ground and leave this place, but here you are, frozen in place, in a corner of someone's house. Big, echoey house. You can't remember the name of the birthday boy, but you know he must be loaded.

Trying to calm yourself down, you look around at the people around you. Some of them are chatting, most of them are just talking though. You locate someone you know near the windows, Kaminari Denki. He's a loud and bright hero course student who's always flirting with you. You don't mind, he makes good jokes, and he's always respectful of your boundaries, unlike most people. You consider talking to him, until you see he's with someone else. A purple haired guy, who looks like he wants to be here as much as you. Perhaps Kaminari dragged him here like Kendo did before you lost her in the crowd. You empathize with the dude, regardless of if he wants to be here or not, because right now, he looks really fucking tired.

Unfortunately for you, he glances around and his eyes meet yours. You look down, feeling your breathing fasten, and hear Kaminari's voice.

"Y/N! Hi!"

You look back up, to see Kaminari and his friend standing in front of you.

"I didn't know you'd be here! I'm glad you are though, me and 'Toshi were starting to get bored!"

You nod along his flow of words. 'Toshi' must be the purple guy's name, you think.

"I'm Shinsou Hitoshi. Nice to meet you," He says. You nod, before realizing you should introduce yourself too.

"I'm Y/N, nice to meet you too," You mumble.

Kaminari holds a one sided conversation for some time, as you nod along and Shinsou sometimes says something sarcastic in response to Kaminari's jokes. Despite how exhausting it still is to be in the presence of so many people, it calms you down to be with someone you know. And Shinsou doesn't try to talk to you so it's fine, you think.

Until someone, who you guess is the birthday boy given his paper crown, interrupts Kaminari.

"Hey you three, we're having a karaoke contest and you're legally obligated to participate!"

You feel the blood leave your face at the thought. Karaoke. Well, you do like karaoke, when you're alone. Not in front of a ton of people, and not for a contest. Your breathing fastens again and you feel yourself panicking, as Kaminari tries to convince Shinsou to come with him.

The latter's voice takes you out of your spiraling thoughts.

"Y/N, wanna go get drinks?"

You blinks, glancing up. Paper crown and Kaminari look at the both of you with a weird look, and you realize. Oh. He's flirting isn't he. Mmh.

This is better than karaoke. You nod, ignoring the two blondes' complaints and following Shinsou, who leads you outside instead of near the bar. You shiver in the cold air.

"Are you okay? You look like you're having a panic attack," Shinsou asks, sitting on the stairs. You sit next to him.

"I'm used to it," You murmur, your voice seemingly too loud in the silence of the night. You didn't realize it was so late.

"I just don't like parties."

Shinsou looks ahead, his head propped up on his knees.

"Me neither. Denki dragged me here."

You chuckle. So you were right.

"Same, my friend asked me to come. I can't say no to her."

"Same," Shinsou says. You laughs again, your voice echoing. You see Shinsou smile in the corner of your eye.

You two sit in comfortable silence for a while, and you wrap your arms around yourself, cold.

"Do you want to go back inside? You look cold," Shinsou asks. He's observant, or you're not discreet at all. You nod.

"They should all be too busy with their contest to care about us now. If you wanna go home it's now or tomorrow," Shinsou mumbles. You chuckle.

"Kendo is my ride, so I guess it's tomorrow for me," You sigh. Shinsou grimaces and you laugh.

"I'll be fine, don't worry!" You laugh. It's mostly a lie, but you don't really have any other choice.

"You go home, if you can. You look at tired as I look anxious."

Shinsou laughs.

"I'm always like that," He laughs.

"I think I'll stay longer, if you'll accept my company," He offers, his hand flying to the back of his neck. You blink in surprise, but smile.

"I'll accept it," You say, amused. Shinsou smiles and stands, offering you a hand. You take it, surprised by how warm it is.

You both go back in. Maybe this specific party is alright, you think.
