Sorry it took so long to finish this, I'm basically at work all day every day, gotta pay bills somehow.

The war had been going on for ages, it seemed like it would never end. General Adrian let out a groan, his thumb and his pointer finger rubbing his temples as he leaned over the table with a giant map of their kingdom on it. For two years now he has been trying his best to defeat Alexander the Great, but to no avail. "Father?" A gentle feminine voice came from the entrance of the tent. Turning, Adrian saw it daughter, Yn standing there dressed in her usual disguise. As the only child he loved her too much to be apart from her, he also noticed her potential when she would fight all the boys and win, so he got her to dress as a boy since she was young and claiming her a son. Now Yn was a top general just like her father, yet no one knew of her gender except him.

"Put on her man voice when outside of this tent, it's convincing enough for them, but if they hear your true voice then they'll be suspicious." He said, but yn didn't seem too fazed by his scolding. "What was the reason you called for me?" She asked and Adrian looked down at the map. "We got news from a spy that Alexander plans on ambushing us tonight, we have no time to get ready for it. I need your help finding a way to beat him." He explained, his eyebrows furrowing as dread and fear appeared on his face.

"Well maybe what we can do is leave the slaves." Yn said, grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl near the tent entrance and biting into it. Adrian looked at her with furrowed eyebrows, confused. Once she noticed this she smiled and continued after swallowing the now chewed up apple bite.

"The slaves are loyal, what we can do is dress them in armor and get them to lead the army here-" Yn pointed to the cliff edge that was through the thick forest. "We follow behind, the forest is too thick so for them to really notice especially if we paint ourselves to blend in." Yn grinned, her father's eyes widening as she continued. "He get them to the cliffs edge and swarm them so they all fall." Yn took another bite of the apple as her father let out a hearty laugh. "You're a genius you know!" He said, pulling her into a hug. Yn smiled and hugged him back. "It's just quick thinking is all." She muttered, a blush coming to her cheeks when hearing the compliment.

His next words only made her mad though. "I don't want you coming with us though, it's too dangerous." He pulled away from her, looking her in the eyes. Yn just seemed offended by this. "What?! But I'm a general, I have to be there for my troops!" Yn protested, glaring at her father and huffing like a child. "And I am your father so I have the final say so. You're my only child, losing you would be worse than any fate given to me." He said, giving her a smile. "It would be even more painful than it was losing your mother." He finished, causing Yn to freeze as memories flooded back to her mother's death. Ambushed in camp just like this from Alexander's army when the battle first started, he must be scared that it would happen again.

Yn sighed, she refused to sit on the sidelines though. She had worked her ass off to get the title as general and make sure no one found out she was a woman, the soldiers were now her responsibility and she would never let them fight alone, even if her father said to.

yn cleared her throat when leaving the tent and made her way down to the campfire where everyone was eating. They all looked at her, bowing their heads in respect and awaiting for what she would say. "Men, I have some news." She said, confusing them all. Adrian came a stood beside her as she spoke, encouraging her to go on. "We found out that Alexander will be attacking the camp tonight, but I have a plan." Everyone listened carefully to her words and her plan. Once she was done they began to get things ready, arming up the slaves who thanked them and got in place. The troops then his in the forests awaiting for the army as nightfall came.

The slaves all huddled near the fires, clutching tightly to their weapons as none spoke. They all were listening for any footsteps, fear evident, but they were willing to do anything if that meant the war would be over. Yn and Adrian as together in the forest surrounded by the soldiers who waited quietly, none willing to speak. The camp had went from laughter and singing being heard everywhere as men drank the day away with each other, to a pin for hogs awaiting slaughter. The wind blew softly, but the cold it brought wasn't the reason all the slaves were shivering.
