Jackie's POV

I rushed to my residential building and ran straight to my room. I was relieved when I saw that my roommate was not around, so I had the time to think about whom I had seen a few minutes ago.

I could not believe that I had bumped into Lucas Hamilton. He was the last person I would think of bumping into and it was funny how I have never forgotten about him all these months ever since that very night in front of his house.

I was confused about a lot of things. Firstly, what was he doing where I schooled, and secondly, I wondered if he has been monitoring me all these years.

"Nah, something isn't right about this," I said and sat on my single bed. I folded my legs and leaned on the wall. "Why is Lucas in my area?"

Despite everything that happened the last time I saw him, I could not stop thinking about what he was doing and where he was. I had even searched him online but found nothing. I had nothing against him as I learned to forgive and forget about the incident but I was not prepared to meet him again. It made fresh memories pop up again as well as made me think twice about forgetting everything.

"I have to call Maddy and tell her about it," I said and raised my phone to my face but the door opening got my attention.

Maddy rushed into the room with her eyes wide and face sweaty. I had to look past her for safety before taking in how flustered she looked as she breathed heavily.

"What's chasing you?"

Maddy waved her hands and sat down beside me. She leaned back and caught her breath before folding her legs.

"Guess what?" She asked.

"I don't know? Is the US president at our school?" I teased and she chuckled with a roll of her eyes.

"No, silly. So, after you left to take your call, some minutes later someone walked into the restaurant and you will not believe who it was," Maddy said and I had a feeling of who she was referring to, but I had to pretend.

"Who?"

"Lucas Hamilton," she said and I pretended to be shocked.

"Are you serious? You're lying!"

"No, I'm not," she said in a serious tone. "I saw him walk into the restaurant to a table full of students. He was with them for a short time before leaving. I couldn't hear what they were saying but after he left, I went to the table and asked about him."

It was at this point that I got very curious about what she found on him.

"What did they say?" I asked, feeling agitated at her sudden silence.

"As you already know, 10% of Redside students are in this college. I mean, this is a college filled with students from schools in our town. So, when I asked them about Lucas they told me he is part of their department. This means that Lucas Hamilton has been in this college for almost a year and we didn't know!"

I went silent after she finished speaking and zoned out. Lucas had been with us in this college and none of us knew? I started to panic, wondering if he knew about me being here or if he intentionally came to this school because I knew he was stubborn and would not heed my words of telling him to stay away from me.

"Are you okay?" Maddy asked and I blinked before looking at her.

"I'm fine, Maddy. It's just weird knowing he's been here all this while. What if already knew about us?" I asked and she smiled.

"Don't let his existence in this school control how you'll behave, please. Just forget about what I told you. Luckily, you didn't see him."

I cringed inside of me at what she said, wishing I could tell her that I did but I didn't want to say anything to avoid talking about him.

"I know, Maddy. It's just weird knowing he's in this school with us. Now, I have to check every guy around me. I don't want him in my life again," I confessed and she took my hand.

"Aw, it's okay, babe. You don't have to think about him when I'm here for you," Maddy said then her phone dinged. "Oops, I gotta go. I have a class in thirty minutes. Bye," Maddy said and kissed my cheek before rushing out of my room.

I stretched out my legs and laid on the bed, mind filled with the thought of Lucas who I now realized looked so good. I hated to admit it but he looked hotter from the glance him. His hair was the same length, short with some unruly locks over one eye. He was more muscular and had stubble growing around his jawline. His deep voice had left me shocked at first but made me shiver later.

Lucas Hamilton was always an eye candy that was forbidden for me and would remain that way because I didn't want to have anything to do with his type of person. Even all these months, I still remembered his kisses which I always hated myself for. I couldn't blame myself for thinking about him that way when he had left me flustered every time we met in high school.

I forced him out of my head and took the phone laying beside me. As I moved it to my line of vision, I placed my thumb against the lock. The screen lit up but the raunchy wallpaper on the screen made me sit up.

This was not my phone. I turned the phone over and saw how slick and new it was. The phone was just like mine which I had gotten as a gift from Maddy. I turned it back to the front and stared at the picture of a naked girl. I tried to understand how I had gotten this phone when I had been talking to Axel when I bumped into Lucas.

I gasped. "Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no! Not again."

A/N: Yikes, seems history is about to repeat itself.
