(Y/Ns POV)

I sighed as I sat in the football stands, my hands fiddling in my lap. It was almost homecoming and I still didn't have a date. These games were useless to go to, as I didn't know a thing about football. I wasn't a complete idiot about it but I just didn't care for it. My eyes casted up and caught wind of my crush, Brian Richardson.

The air gushed out of my lungs as I floated over to the railing, practically drooling on it as he took off his helmet and shook his hair out. The Warriors had been doing 10x better since Sean Payton started coaching. They were winning almost every game.

"Ooh who're you staring at?" My best friend, Julie, followed my gaze to Brian, clicking her tongue and winking. "A football player huh? Brian at that. You know he's not the sharpest tool. Well, he is a tool . But-" i rolled my eyes.

"As if Connor isn't." She raised her hands in defense. "Fine, you don't have to get all defensive." I smiled sarcastically and shooed her away. When The Warriors shut the scoreboard off on yet another team, my feet pulled me to the sidelines, right.in.front.of.Brian.

I considered turning on my heel and running away, but my feet were planted in the ground as soon as his beautiful eyes locked onto mine. "Hey. You need something?" I felt embarrassment creeping up on me and crawling all over my body, my face burning.

"O-oh uh...no." I turned and right before I walked off, a gloved hand held my shoulder. "Hey wait, you wanna go grab ice cream with the team?" My eyes widen. "Me?" He giggled. "Yeah, you." I felt my heart almost fly out of my chest, seeming to have a mind of its own.

"Oh uh, sure." My heart spoke for me, my brain not even having a chance to react. "Cool then come on." He grabbed my hand and pulled me along, smiling back at me. "Keep up!"

As we sat in the ice cream parlor, ice cold air raising goosebumps on my arms. I take a quick breath, only ordering a milkshake and some banana chips. As the team chatted it up, most of the conversation regarded their current winnings.

As my mom rolled out in the parking lot I quickly got up, looking down at Brian. "Well...my moms here." I turned to walk away, feeling him grab my shoulder yet again. "Wait, can I get your number?" A series of "oohs" and "ahhs" originated from the group of boys as I slowly dialed it into his phone.

"See you around, Brian." I smiled. "Wait Y/N! Can I call you tonight?" My smile deepened as my teeth swallowed my dimples. "Yeah, sure." And with that, I left, my heart beating out of my chest.
