Ryn walked back to the tree. Where she finds a statue. She’s really confused. What is this place? She couldn’t help but feel like she's supposed to be here but also out of place at the same time. She was lost for words. As Ryn was looking at the statue, she noticed a trail. A trail that leads to a large windmill from far away. Ryn began to have hope.

"Damn. Looks like things might be fine." She looks up at the statue. Then, in the distance. Then, back at the statue. Ryn decides that she'd rather take the road. She walks away and follows the trail to the far away city.

As she was walking she saw many beautiful plants and cedar trees. She was amazed by the scenery. She picked an apple off a tree and took a bite. As soon as the apple left her lips, Ryn realized how hungry she was. She started down the path faster and faster until she came upon a bridge to the city she saw in the distance.

"Whoa, this is awesome." She starts walking and is interrupted by a bunch of birds flying into her face. "Ugh, what the hell!"

A child starts crying. "How dare you scare away, my friends. I'm gonna tell my mommy about you." He said, pointing at Ryn.

Ryn rolls her eyes and starts walking. "They're birds. They will come back."

She reached the gates and walked in.

"Welcome to Mondstadt." One of the guards said. And Ryn shot him a smile.

This is scenery she's never seen in person before. Ryn was halfway up the steps when she smelled the food. She was so hungry. Ryn was following the smell and found the restaurant, Good Hunter.

She went up to the worker at Good Hunter and looked at the menu. "What can I get for you?" The lady working asked.

"Hmm, I would like 1 chicken and mushroom skewer and fisherman's toast. Please." Ryn asked, starving.

"1475 mora." The waitress said, awaiting money.

Ryn looked in her inventory to find just the right amount for her food. "Here you go." Ryn gave her the cash in which the waitress told her to take a seat, and her food would be out shortly.

She took a seat and a few minutes later she got her food and it tasted so good to her. She practically gobbled it down. It hit her afterward that she needed to make money in order to live in Mondstadt. She went up to the waitress.

"Hello." She looked at her name tag "Sara I have a question: Are you hiring people?"

"You would want to work here?" She looked genuinely curious. "Why? I can see you have a vision. Why don't you join the adventurers guild?"

"What's the adventurers guild?"

"It's a group of people who do commissions, and they pay you pretty heavily." Sara said.

"Oh my, that sounds cool. What are these commissions in detail?" Ryn said curiously

"Well, you give people deliveries, you fight monsters, and complete puzzles." Sara said, listing the three examples on her fingers.

"Ummm, I'm not really much of a fighter. That's why I would like to help you make and serve food. I really need a job. Would you consider it?" Ryn said nervously.

"Hmm ok business has been pretty slow. You start and train tomorrow at 9." Sara reached out her hand for Ryn to shake it.

"That you so much Sara. You have no idea how much this means to me." She shakes her hand. "I'll see you tomorrow." Ryn walks away with a smile plastered on her face.

Ryn wanders and looks at shops, buildings, and flowers. She's distracted and not watching where she is going. Ryn runs into a girl who seems to be running in a rush. They both fall to the floor.

"Oh my archon, I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going. Are you ok? Are you hurt?" As she was worried about Ryn. She says, "Wait a minute, I'm sorry I don't recognize you. Are you new to the city of Mondstadt?" The girl reaches out her hand, and Ryn takes it standing up.

"No, it's totally fine. It's nothing but a bump. Don't worry about it. To answer your last question, yes, I am new here. Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. This is all just so new to me." Ryn said, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Well, allow me to introduce myself. I'm outrider Amber of the Knights of Favonious. What's your name?" She asked eagerly.

"I'm Ryn." She said this reminded her of the man by the tree. Does everyone announce themselves like this?

"Well, Ryn, what are you doing in Mondstadt? Can I be of service to you in any way?" She said genuinely.

"Well, I just got a job here, but I don't have enough mora to find a room. Do you know a place where I could stay?" She said with hope that this was the right person to ask.

"Well. I actually do know a place. The Knights have housing for people who are trying to get back on their feet. Follow me." Amber said, walking with Ryn walking at her side.

This girl, Amber, seems sweet, but Ryn was just focused on trying to get settled in. After a few minutes, they reach the Knights of Favonius headquarters. Amber walks up to a reception desk.

“Hey Ryn, come over here” Amber exclaims. Ryn stands by Amber's side. “Ok so we do have housing. Luckily, you get the very last room. You can live here for as long as you need.”

Ryn feels happy that things are working out so far, but the receptionist lady starts to speak.

“You have a year to get on your feet since rooms are high for demand. Got it.” She explained in a rude manner, and Amber shot her a side eye.

“Loud and clear ma’am.” Ryn said. “Amber lets go.”

Amber looks at Ryns key and sees room #200, and they left toward Ryns room. Once they arrive and open the door, the room is honestly not too bad. There were light brown wooden floors with a mini kitchen and separate rooms, one with a bed the other with a bathroom. Everything is simple and pleasant with a window that overlooks Mondstadt.

“Wow Amber this isn’t too bad. In all honesty, I was picturing a dark cobblestone room without anything.” Ryn said with bright eyes, and Amber looked excited.

“I’m glad you like it, just remember that there is a policy against pets and quiet time is at 10 pm. If you need me you can just call for me and I’ll be there as fast as possible but for now I’ve gotta go. I'll see you around.” And with that, Amber left.

“ Alright, maybe this won’t be so bad,” Ryn said with optimism.
