"I can handle me a dangerous man,"

The weeks at Hogwarts went quicker than expected, and it is almost February 14. The corridors are decorated with hearts in different colours, mostly pink and red. Disgusting if you ask me. It is not like I hate Valentine's Day. I just think it's weird that there is one day a year you should spread love, and every other day you act like a bitch. And no, I am not grumpy about being single. My two best friends claim the title of the cutest couple at Hogwarts. I see enough love every day. There is no need for a boyfriend or stupid Valentine's dates. Speaking about dates, everything between Mattheo and me is fine. I have survived one and a half months with a flirty Mattheo Riddle. Oh, and yeah, you read that right. A flirt. Can I hold up my shield much longer when he acts like this? God, I don't know. We spend almost every day alone, and I have been close to kissing him about fourteen times now. All of them he has noticed for sure. But I won't fall for him, and I won't let it go further. But lord, is he good at what he is doing? Way too good.

"You have been eating that cake for twenty minutes now. What are you? A pity eater?" Mattheo smirks at me before he grabs the plate and takes a bit of my cake. The cake I was eating.

"I was eating that, bitch." I glare at him, but not much changes.

"Then eat faster; I want to return to my dorm," I roll my eyes. He isn't eating, so what's stopping him from going? Am I his walk buddy now?

"What is stopping you? It's not the cake."

"You are coming with me," he smiles, and that weird feeling returns to my stomach.

"Uh, uh. No funny business. Sorry, bud." He rolls his eyes before leaning closer to me.

"You know," he puts his hand on my thigh; no one besides me can notice, depending on how I react now. I look up, meeting his eyes.

"You never really thanked me for that cure." My heart is fully cured after the dark magic, and it is all because of the guy before me. I still don't know why he helped me get it, but he did.

"Wrong, I did thank you with the date. Remember?" A smile fits his lips.

"How can I forget?" I roll my eyes before returning to my cake.

"Besides, who said anything about funny business? Can't we? I don't know. Hang out?" I look confused around the room, trying to figure out what is happening here. Is this a prank everyone is pulling on me or something?

"You want to hang out? Alone, with me?"

"Don't sound so surprised. We do it every day. You are just scared you will catch feelings for me." I snort; his comments are based on facts for once.

"Yeah, terrified." He chuckles, knowing it's true no matter how much I try to hide it.

"Come on, Rosie. We can... read?" No, it's my time to laugh; Mattheo Riddle wants to spend his day reading with me.

"Oh, please. You have never, not once, opened a book."

"I read Romeo and Juliette once," Oh damn, is he good. I have read that book around seventy times.

"That is only because it's almost as dark as your soul," he tries to look sad, but a smirk overtakes it.

"Fine, I will hang out with you." he lights up in joy, and I chuckle while taking the last bite of my cake.

"Never thought you would finish that." He grabs my hand, dragging me towards the common room. Holding his hand isn't technically giving in on his trying to get me to fall for him. But lord, is it doing something to me?
