Omers Pov

I watched Khadijah and Tasneem talk at lunch with amusement and curiosity, I sat on the seat opposed to them eating my humus sandwich that mama made with some carrots

I looked at Tasneem and asked "what classes did you have, did anyone bother you?"

"Unless you are talking about the girl who called me towel head I don't think so, no one was really friend either but eh, just kind wish a Muslim was in my class"

I noticed Khadija suddenly got quiet and shifted in her seat, I saw her staring at something but quickly looking away, I looked in the direction she saw and realized that the girl Sarah and a dude next to her were in our direction

I mumbled under my breath, the dude next to Sarah was Kyle. Kyle Ezra Mare. Most known for being the team captain in soccer, the school asshole, dating Sarah and pretty much a pain

I found out about him while I was in the boys restroom, apparently he scares pretty much the whole school and no one has the guts to realize that his 5'10 ass can't do anything but make empty threats that have no meaning

Khadijah looked a bit nervous probably wasn't used too getting attention, Tasneem was talking about how boring her history class was, I nodded at her but  on the corner of my eye I was focused on them

Khadijah got up "excuse me I need to throw this in the trash" she mumbled picking up some plastic of the lunch she just finsihed eating, she gave tasneem a smile and she nodded at me respectfully as she made her way to the bin

I talked with Tasneems for a bit but then I noticed that Sarah and Kyle were following Khadijah, I kept my eyes on them, but Khadijah was doing well on her own, they were starting some small talks be making some "jokes" but she ignore them and continued walking to our table

When she was a few meters away Tasneem finally noticed and she leaned back on her chair

"I'm talking to you" Sarah said as finally Khadijah looked at her and raised a brow "I knew you were raised right but am I really going to have to teach you manners"

Khadijah laughed a little it was more like s mocking giggle as she shook her head getting ready to sit down but then Sarah pulled a bit of her hijab, not r enough to pull it completely off but enough to annoy anyone, but the second she pulled it I turned to the wall

SMACK

suddenly the whole cafeteria gone quiet, I looked at them and realized Sarah had a hand mark going across her cheek, Khadijah slapped her

"You filthy Bit-" She didn't complete her sentence but we all knew what she was going to say

With a voice as fierce as a lioness Khadijah said "touch my hijab again I dare you"

Tasneems mouth was wide with shock and surprise, everyone's mouth was probably wide open by now, well except Khadijah who looked in Sarah's eye, not breaking eye contact for even a second, but I realized Kyle stepped closer to Khadijah, he was Sarah's boyfriend so I knew he would defend Sarah from the women who just slapped her

I stood up as he got closer to Khadijah and I raised a brow "do we have a problem?"

"Yeah this pieace of shit just slapped my girlfriend" Kyle yelled his voice hoarse

I had to restrain myself from slapping him to his grave, "number one she isn't a 'piece of shit' respect yourself. number two I'm pretty sure your girlfriend deserved it for trying to pull of her hijab"

"Oh fuck off" Kyle said

I laughed- and I didn't feel sorry this was just too funny

"What you're laughing at?" He said getting all up in my face I bit my lip to restrain another huge laugh "nah I just think it's hilarious, Sarah comes to her, tries to make her cry or whatever and the second she slapped her for humiliating her and trying to appropriate her religion so it seems fair not gonna lie"

"Violence is never the answer"

"Don't you know how to load a gun?"

"BOYS!" A voice boomed into the cafeteria "KHADIJAH SARAH IN MY OFFICE NOW!"

Khadijah and I shared a knowing look, yep we were in trouble

But watching Khadijah bite down on her smile as Tasneem came and started to rant "oh my god we did not except that- anyways she deserved it, you did nothing wrong and were celebrating after school" I knew that she didn't regret it

And being completely honest, neither did I.
