I whipped around to see the mystery man standing in the doorway. For a good ten seconds we just stood and stared at each other in shock.
"Mrs Brown I thought that I informed you yesterday that I would no longer be needing your service." He said while placing his stuff on his new desk.
"Look Sir, I have had this job for a very long time. And I'll be damned if I let some asshole walk in here and take that away from me." After I said that I instantly regretted it. How am I supposed to win my job back talking like that to my boss?
He gave me a look of pure anger, and right when he was getting ready to respond I jumped first.
"I didn't even catch your name, Sir." I said with a sneaky smile on my face.
"My name is Justin Maxwell. But you address me by Mr. Maxwell, or I'm sure next time you really won't be getting your job back."

I was extremely confused, does this mean that he was giving me my job back?

"Mr. Maxwell Sir...."

"Mr. Maxwell is fine, don't address me by Sir."

"Ok Mr. Maxwell but..."

"Don't you have a job to be doing?" He said with no emotion in his voice at all. His eyes were glued to a stack of papers in front of him.

I almost jumped from excitement when I heard him say that. "What would you like me to do Mr. Maxwell, anything you need I'm here to help."

" I want you to start with this." He handed me a humongous folder full of company data. " I don't want to hear another word from you Mrs. Brown. Consider yourself lucky to be here." And with that, I took my stuff and left his office.

For all the time I have worked for this company, I have had a small desk located with the other assistance. It's on the same floor as Mr. Maxwells, just smaller and out in the open with everyone else.

I set the folder on my desk and sit down. I let out a sigh of relief, never in a million years would I think I would've earned my job back.
