Losing Adeline

Chapter 4 Phoenix POV

It wasn't long until I was staying with Adeline and her parents. They all thought the sooner the better to get me into a routine. Adeline was still hesitant about it but I was working on making her warm up to the idea.

It was my third day staying with them I was laying with Adeline on her bed when she asked the most random question "you have friends, right?"
I nodded my head "yeah, I do, any reason you are asking when you have met a few of them?"
Adeline shrugged her shoulders "I was just wondering, stop being nosy."
I let out a laughing "me being nosy, just tell me, Ade!"
She held her hands up in defeat "I want you to set me up with someone."
I shook my head "no of them are your type princess, anyway who says any of them are anywhere near good enough for you?"
Adeline replied instantly "because they are your friends."
I shook my head in utter disbelief "just because they are my 'friends' doesn't mean anything. You are my friend they are all fakes."
She grabbed my hand gently squeezing it "do you know anyone I could date?"
I pulled her into my chest "why my friends tho?"
She laughed "does it look like I have friends?"
I shook my head "you have better me, so why now do you want a boyfriend?"
She cuddled into me "I don't want to die a Virgin destined to be alone."
I laid a kiss on her forehead "it's better than any hump and dump, I hate it."
Adeline looked up to me "then why do it?" I shrugged my shoulders pulling her back into my chest where she mumbled "I think you do know and you're ashamed of it."
I nodded my head "it's what everyone expects."
She kissed my cheek "who did you lose your virginity to?"
I laughed I have been waiting for this question to come "um, it was my best girlfriend at the time. We were childhood best friends and we agreed to do it because we didn't want to be a nobody we...after it was never the same after that."
"What do you mean it wasn't the same after that?" She asked.
I exhaled deeply "after it happened our friendship ended because things became weird and uncomfortable."
Adeline nodded her head "see that's why I want to lose it to someone you know but I have no connections to."
I ran my fingers through her hair "have you ever been kissed, Addie?"
She shook her head "I have never really had the social interaction to have that bond with someone."
I ran my finger along her jawline, cupping her cheek then rubbing it in reassurance. I asked, "can I kiss you then, just as a friend."
She cuddled into my hand, she asked "but then won't things get weird like with your friend?"
I shook my head "I won't let it, I promise we aren't going anywhere in the direction me and Padon went."
"How do we...how do you want me to?" She asked as a blush made its way onto her cheeks.
I grabbed her hands placing them around my neck I whispered "do what feels right."
She nodded her head "ok what next?"
"Well..." I whispered as I placed my hands on her waist pulling her further against me "follow my lead."

With that being said I crashed my lips to her in a slow kiss. Although the kiss wasn't what I usually perfected it was everything I needed. Adeline moved her hands up to my cheeks cupping them.
I pulled away putting my forehead against hers, she asked "was that okay?"
I laughed at her which made her angry. she stormed away into the bathroom slamming the door.
I sprung to my feet running to the bathroom. I knocked on the door "Adeline open up, I only laughed because I'm a guy we don't think. That kiss was perfect please open the door."
Once Adeline opened the door I pulled her into my arms. I put my hand up to her cheek I saw she had tear stained cheeks. I was so disappointed in myself she deserves better. Finally, she broke the ice "I'm sorry for overreacting."
I shook my head "no don't apologise baby girl, I'm sorry it's just that kiss wasn't my thing but somehow I enjoyed it more than most of my make-out sessions." She shook her head fighting away a smile. I ran my thumbs under her eyes wiping away her tears. "I think I might go to sleep, I will see you tomorrow."
Adeline nodded her head "yeah you will Nix."
Once I got to the room I was sleeping in I laid on the bed under the cover. I went to sleep thinking about one thing Adeline.
