Flee

"What was that?" A young (Y/n) asked her mother. The sound of loud yells could be heard in the distance and she couldn't understand why her father went to go check it out without them. Instead, he had told his wife and daughter to run... Run as fast as they can.
So, here they were. Running. Hand in hand. The small girl was confused. Why did they have to run away from their home? Why was daddy crying when he looked at them? Why was her mom crying now? Why was she holding a katana?
What was happening?
"Don't worry, darling. Daddy will take care of it. Just keep running." Her mother's voice shook as tears poured down her cheeks as her grip on the small hand tightened so she wouldn't lose her small pride and joy. "We have to run for Daddy, okay?"
The girl perked up, "Okay!"
But it was all shot down when an arrow pierced her mother's shoulder, bringing them both down. (Y/n) looked down at her mother and her shoulder, watching crimson liquid pool around where the arrow was.
Her mother didn't scream. No, not even a whimper escaped her as she got up again and pulled her daughter along. Nothing would stop her... Nothing...?
Another arrow flew by the older woman's head, causing her to duck. She frantically looked around for the source before looking at her daughter and handing her the blue katana, "Run, (Y/n)!"
The girl looked up at her mother, her eyes wide with fear, "But —"
"(Y/n), stop. Just run! Hide! GO!!" Her mother yelled, holding the girl by her shoulders. Her eyes were pleading, telling her to go. Telling her to just listen to her. Her eyes were brimming with tears. "Please... You have to survive."
The small girl looked at her mother before hugging her, "I love you, Mommy."
The woman took a sharp breath before hugging back. Her body shook from her sobs as she whispered a soft "I love you, too" before pushing her away. "Now, run!"
And she did.
She ran without looking back. She somehow knew that if she did, she would see something horrible. And she was right not to. Because as she ran further and further, the horde of demons grew closer and closer to her mother... Leaving her dead in the snow before looking for the last survivor...
The only surviving Nephilim in all of Japan.
A Nephilim so powerful, many wondered who her actual father was. The demon she called Dad was definitely not her father, so... Who was?
