"What the actual fuck!" Tanisha almost yelled out with full emotions.

Man!

I hate being able to finally shut down to get needed rest.

Just to be awakened by a phone call or text.

Once I open my eyes, I could not hold my frustration.

I look at the clock instantly.

3:48 A.M.

Ughhh!!!

DAMN!

As usual, when I wake up my brain goes into overdrive.

I am recalling deadlines; I must meet by the end of this week.

Innovative ideas are taking on a life of their own.

I am processing and thinking about the meaning of a dream I had the day before.

And the list goes on and on endlessly.

Laying there I debate about starting my day or, praying I can drift off into a peaceful uninterrupted sleep.

But the decision that was mine to make was taken from me within seconds.

Startled when the sound of my doorbell echo throughout my home.

Wtf.

Seriously.

Whoever is on the other side of the door better be half dead.

Not too many people knew where I lived, although it has been the only residence I had since I was eighteen.

Rushing to get my bathrobe on my naked body.

Hoping that my son Terrell does not wake up.

Running barefoot down the narrow hall.

I did not process opening the door until I knew who stood on the other side of it.

The anger in me and the need to give whoever peace of mind.

Cause me to unlock and yank open the door without looking through the peephole.

We will blame the lack of being safe on being half-sleep.

But now looking face to face at my son's father.

He looked even better with age.

My Lil lady parts seem to spring alive as I marveled at his looks.

Tremaine is 5'5, a hundred and forty-six pounds, and has a beautiful dark coffee skin tone.

The first time I had laid eyes on him.

I bumped into him leaving out of a nearby restaurant.

Since then, I would see him everywhere.

Rather it was alone or with a group of friends.

His laugh was always contagious even if he was across the room.

Ta'Nesha notices that people seem to be drawn to him like I was.

Once he had looked at me and smiled and I felt as though the whole had stopped just for us at that moment.

Was I still dreaming?

How can this be that he is here?

Why now?

Ta'Nesha could not breathe.

I felt like I was having a panic attack.

He steps inside and closes the door swiftly.

He picks me up and carries me to the nearest couch.
