1. Embarrassed

Ramona's POV

"Mom, there's no food in the fridge and I got to go to school"
"Well dear, I guess you have to go on an empty stomach again . I'm sorry"
"It's okay mom I understand"
I left the house to school feeling partly angry ,depressed and shattered .It kind of is too much to feel but guess what I am feeling it. Well if you'd like to know I'm feeling all these things because my life isn't going the way I feel like it should. I feel shattered for my mom. That woman has been working her ass off to put food on our table and yet she forbids me to work. Yes like literally said it with the words "Ramon I forbid you to work " but I can't disobey more or like I don't want to because that woman is hell of a smart and when you go against her and she finds out it will be better to just burry yourself 6 feet deep in the earth.
I searched for my phone to listen to some music after all music helps me wipe away the sorrows of my soul , temporarily .
"Woke up and I feel like money ain't nothing no one can take from " . This music just makes me feel like a rich dude even though I am quite the opposite of it. I finally reached to school which isn't that far from our house. I had been walking to school since the 6th grade when things started getting really bad . Things weren't always the way it is now you know . It's like we just woke up and say and everything changed. I stopped taking the bus to relieve my mom of the bills and also I get to enjoy fresh air and the scenery is a bonus.
I take a deep breath and steadily walked into the school. There were fancy cars parked in the car park of the school with students sitting on the hood of their cars . My school is filled with spoilt brats and rich kids .
While I was walking I was suddenly pushed by someone and I know who that someone is. Do you have that one person who is always trying to tempt you to commit sin . Well I have and she is standing right in front of me right now ,Maribel Armani. She is always trying to make my life a living hell . Don't get me wrong I don't get bullied since she is the only one who tries it and I just don't retaliate. I stood up and dusted myself. Great my day just got fantastic. When I looked up like always I almost had a heart attack. She really did the makeup today. Totally overboard. She had her minians with her like always . She was one of the rich spoilt brats in this school so there is no surprise she will have a flock following her.
"Hey loser what are we eating today I hope mommy made us some snacks so we wouldn't go hungry right ?"she said while making innocent and nice expressions but I knew what lied behind that caked up face . I just shrugged and decided not to answer because I was not in the mood and I was kinda running late . I tried to side step her . Tried .I was not successful in my doings because the next thing I knew I was sitting on my butt on the ground again .
"You don't walk away from me when I'm talking to you " You know what I want to do right now I wanna beat the hell out of this brat but I can't because my mom warned me not to.

"Ramona, I'm warning you no fights, I don't have the time and money to get you into another school after you get yourself expelled . Do you understand"
"But Maa what if I have no choice " I said
"You date not fight that's it "she said furiously after she had gotten a call from Principal Pamela's office that I had gotten into a fight

So you now know why I do not want to engage in a fight with her even though I know that I will kick her ass . The late bell rang and thankfully Maribel left me alone saying she would see me soon. I just rolled my eyes and got up . I rashes into the halls which were almost deserted and without going to my locker quickened my steps to my first class ,English. Before I entered the class I pulled my my hood over my head to hide my face in case people stare at me which I know they will because well I am late and they are nosy. With courage and bravery I entered the class and walked straight to my seat at the back corner. The teacher was already in class and after settling down I heard my name .
"Ramona Michaels meet me after this class " Miss Lexi my English teacher said . She was a very young attractive woman and in all the teachers she is the coolest one .
I knew it was a lecture on being on time . I start taking notes when she begins to speak . I'm not a big fan of school but I try my best . The class ends and I follow Miss Lexi out of the class to the teachers room. As I expected it was a lecture.
"Remember what got you here Ramona ,your intelligence and hardwork . You are on a scholarship and you should remember that ." I know I am and I'm not gonna follow one bimbo and lose it . I move on to my next class and just like that the day continues and ends quietly. As I was moving out of the school I saw Maribel coming my way "Great " ,I thought sarcastically but to my surprise she didn't stop and I had a feeling it was because of something behind me so curiously I turned around and I saw Jason standing there and Maribel shamelessly flirting with him to which he looked not interested in . Well I guess it's time to go home now . I smiled to myself congratulating myself for making it through the day in hell. I took my phone from my back tuned my music on and headed back home .
