Callie Hinsen- January 2nd/ 11:15 a.m.

"Are you following me or something?!" I shouted at her. She looked shocked but why would she. She's the one following me. We stood there in the middle of the sidewalk for what felt like a solid five minutes just staring at each other. As I stared at her, I noticed she had faint freckles sprinkled all over her face. 'God dammit why is my stalker so pretty.' She started to laugh.

"Oh my! Me? Following you?" Her accent is making it hard for me to be mad at her, "Girly I was just heading to the same bakery as you I suppose."

"What? But- but that's impossible. Nobody has the same outline!" I shouted back at her as I shoved my document in her face. She seemed to examine it, "Oh... well it seems like we have an identical outline mate. See look." Now she was shoving her document in my face.

"Ok- OK... I get it!" I said pushing the paper out of my face. She started to laugh, "Oh I'm sorry girly pop, does this bother you?" She continued pushing the paper into my face. Now I was laughing with her.

"I said I get it!" I grabbed her hand and held it out of my face. She pulled away and smiled, "So, no apology?" I stared at her, "For?" 'There she goes again with that adorable laugh.'

"For basically calling me a stalker," she was looking straight into my soul. Finally the realization hit me, "OH! Yea, my bad. I sincerely apologize for calling you a stalker." I bowed in front her with my hand out.

"I accept your apology. Emily." I looked back up at her, "Is that your name?" She nodded.

"Well then, I'm Callie. Nice to meet you," we shook hands, "Shall we go inside?" Emily smiled, "After you!" We walked inside of the bakery. It smelt of fresh pastries and there was a display with lots of little treats. Emily went and ordered first, "Want anything?" I shook my head, "Oh- no need for you to pay for me-"

"We'll get two of those please," she said to the cashier before I could finish what I was saying. By the time I went to try to talk to her again she had already payed, "Let's go find a seat!" I trailed behind her- no way I'm walking next to her. Once we sat down she started scrolling on social media, "Listen- Emily was it?- you didn't have to pay for me. I could have afforded it." She waved her hand at me, "Oh it's fine. I just so happened to have a bit of pocket money this time around so it's ok, I promise."

We sat in silence- her scrolling on her phone while I looked at my notification-less phone as well. It felt like hours before we got our orders. Emily brought them back and started eating it immediately.

"So- um... where're you from?" I managed to ask her. She cleared her throat, "London." 'That explains a lot.'

"What about you, Callie?" she said as she took another bite.

"The U.S." I replied. Emily's eyes widened, "Really? You don't sound like you have an American accent." I chuckled, "And you don't seem to have an English one." She rolled her eyes, "I don't have an accent."

"Really?" I asked jokingly and tried to do my best attempt at her accent, "I dOn'T hAve an AccENt!" Emily nearly spit out the drink she had just taken a sip of. Once she swallowed she burst out laughing, "Was that your attempt at my accent?"

"Aha! So you're self-aware!" We both laughed practically in sync. She reached across the table and lightly pushed me, "Oh shut up!" I leaned towards her, "Ok, I want to hear your attempt at an American accent. And go!" I pointed right in her face.

"I suppose I'll give you my best and most sincere attempt," Emily said and put her hand on her chest, "Wait... what should I say?" I looked up at the ceiling and thought. I snapped my fingers when I got an idea, "Just say what I said! You know 'I don't have an accent.'" She nodded and put her hand back on her chest. Her face contorted into a weird expression and started speaking, "I dON't have an acCENt." I deadpanned, "Wow.... yours is so much better than mine."

Emily smirked, "I know. I'm so perfect." She stared at me as she took a sip of her drink. I rolled my eyes, "Ok yeah, for sure!" I sarcastically smiled at her and took a bite of my food.

After a few minutes, we decided to leave and take a walk to the nearby historical monument to relax a little bit. It was silent for a bit before Emily broke the silence, "So!" she said clapping her hands together and looking at me, "Where in America do you come from exactly?"

"Montana."

"Montana? Sorry I'm not too familiar with the states." I smiled, "No, no it's fine. It's a rural place- I don't expect many people to know of it." She giggled, "I guess I just thought you were from... I don't know, California or New York- or, or Florida-"

I put my hand in her face, "Ok, that's where we stop naming states thank you!" I gave her another sarcastic smile.

"What do you have against Florida girly pop? I don't see what's wrong with it," she said holding her chin as she spoke. I looked over at her, "Have you ever been there?"

"Well no-"

"Great! Let's keep it that way!" I said and started walking a few steps ahead of her. I could feel Emily grabbing for my hands and shouting at me to slow down. 'This is fun..'  I knew she wasn't looking so I grinned the biggest smile I've ever had before.

When we arrived at the monument, it was quite crowded (as expected) so we just sat down at a bench nearby.

"Ok," I said turning my body towards her, "You asked where I'm from so now I'm going to ask you. What part of England or the UK are you from?" Her face seemed to become a little bit grim when the question was asked. I could tell that she kind of just snapped herself out of it and smiled, "London. I love my city! I've met so many wonderful people there." I nodded, "Yeah, I totally have friends too."

Emily chuckled, "I'm guessing you don't have many?" I sighed and rested my arm on her shoulder, "Alas! I'm as introverted as the people get!" We both started giggling and then she grabbed my hand, "Well I'm your friend now!" and she gave me one of the purest smiles I've ever seen. I took this moment to just stare at her face. It sounds weird but this is one time that it won't seem too out of place. 'God she's so damn pretty. ugh STOP! What if she's not even lesbian?... but then again she has been kinda flirtatious hasn't she?'

I snapped back into reality when she said so kindly, "You're staring girly." I felt my face heat up and I immediately looked away and moved away from her entirely, "Oh-uh.. my bad!... It-it's your words though." I said and started twisting my fingers together. Emily just looked at me confused, "My words?" I gathered enough courage to look back at her, "Well, you're perfect."
