You're running through the woods, not paying much attention to your surroundings as you desperately and almost violently run, trying to escape.

...Escape? Unfortunately yes, from something that's been holding you back for a while. Life.

You're tired, maybe a lot more than just "tired" as you're panting, hitting branches and snapping twigs, crunching leaves between your seemingly heavy feet. Rushed and sloppy movements, all in a pursuit of peace.

Your old home, family, friends, all left in the dust, quickly fading into the past as you rush away from it all. All of your past choices, actions, friendships, relationships, all leading up to this very moment.

In all honesty, you're very... let's say 'relieved' about this turn of events. All the guilt you've carried up until this point, disappearing as fast as your harsh steps. The past memories flooding through your mind, your constant and seemingly unending failures, your massive self hatred, insecurities, mental health issues; all of the "negatives" in your life flashing right before your eyes before you...

Fall. You collapse, no more energy, no more will or determination to keep you going. Your legs give out, and with them, your hope. The only sounds surrounding you are your sharp and ragged breaths, the colors of your surroundings now becoming nothing but a messy fading blur; until you finally slip into the realm of unconsciousness, the last word that flips through your mind:

Regret.
