Always The Friend Never The Girlfriend

I parked my car outside of his house and right at that moment is when I realized Maddy wasn't really just his friend.
I walked to his door and I rang the doorbell and he answered

"Hey babe!"  He said awkwardly.

"Hey what are you doing?" I asked.

"Austin come on who is at the door? And why is it taking you do long babe." Said a girl who Austin hangs out with and "study's" with quite often.

"Lexi wait!" He yelled

I ran to my car as fast as I could ignoring him and not looking back. I drove off in so much anger and sadness. I dont know what to do the only person I can talk to is Kadyn and he is probably with his girlfriend Mackenzie, he thinks he loves her but she always breaks him and I pick the pieces up and put them back together. I decided I needed to call him.

"Hello" I heard a familiar girly voice. It was her.

"Hey can I talk to Kadyn?"

"Hah sure." She laughed because she could tell I was crying.
We used to be Best friends until

"Hey Lexi what's up?" The way he said my name made me go insane.

"Uh yeah Hey can we meet up and talk?"

"Lex, I'm sorry Kenzie is over right now and she's leaving tomorrow for a month to go to Texas to visit her grandma remember?"

"Yeah I know but it's just Austin. I broke up with him because he was with Maddy and they were making out."

" oh Lexi I am so sorry. He doesn't realize what he's missing out on your smart, amazing, and you truly are beau-"

"Kadyn! Come on!" Mackenzie yelled.

What was he going to say? Was he going to call me beautiful? Before Mackenzie.

"Hey Lex, I have to go I'll call you tomorrow Goodnight."

"Goodnight Kadyn." I said.

The call was ended

I continued my drive home and I actually felt a lot better. Kadyn alway has had that effect on me even if we talked for 1 second or 1 hour I always felt better after talking to him.

I walked inside I saw my house where i live with my grandparents and have for 13 years since I was 3 years old.
"Hey did you finish your homework at Katelyn's?" She asked me.

"Yeah." I replied.

"what's wrong?" She asked softly.

"it's nothing." I wiped my tears off my face.

"If it's nothing why are you crying?" She asked.

" I broke up with Austin he was making out with Maddy when I was going over their to say hi on my way home from Katelyn's house" I explained.

" Well like I said boys are noting but trouble and it's his loss." She told me.

"Thanks grandma."  I said.

I walked to my grandparents room and told my grandpa good night because he was on his computer putting the jobs in that he did today. He's an electrician a really good one he even has his own business.

"Goodnight grandpa" I said

"goodnight sweetie sleep good." He said softly

"You too! Don't stay up to late you party animal." I said

he laughed and said "I'll try not to"

"mhm sure bye!"

I walked out of his room and went down the hall to my room laid in bed and checked my Instagram feed I was scrolling down and of course I see her name and I picture of her and Kadyn with a long comment that said

" I'm going to to miss MY Kadyn . He's amazing and the sweetest boyfriend I've had. I'm going to Texas for a month so I have to leave him here. Lady's back off I know he's adorable but he's mine even though we are breaking up because I'm going to Texas. If any of you girls touch my man I will come back early and it won't be pretty. I have people making sure no one tries to hit on him. Thank you! Love you Kadyn!"

Ugh whatever. I plug my phone in and turn on my right side shut my eyes and go to sleep.
