Hyemin jolted awake by a slight ache below her stomach area. 

Oh no.

Another wave of pain hit her in the same area, but this time it hurt even more. She groaned and clutched her stomach. She got off her bed and sighed when her suspicions were indeed confirmed. She was in that time of the month. She then headed to the bathroom to clean herself. 

Hyemin checked the time, "4 more hours." 

She concluded that she would just toughen it out or something. Even though she could barely walk, she was just gonna deal with it someway somehow. No way she was going to cancel their plans. Sunghoon was already extremely excited about going and she was too. 

She could already imagine the sad frown and disappointment written all over his face if she did. Therefore, she tried everything in an attempt to soothe the excruciating pain. At some point, her aunt had to stop her from taking her 6th painkiller within the same hour. Unfortunately, things didn't go to plan. 

One hour before she and Sunghoon was meeting up, she decided to text him. Her cramps were unbearable and she couldn't even walk anymore but that's not what she was sad about, she felt extremely bad about canceling their plans.

highmin.xoxo : just go by yourself if the fact that my uterus is shedding its lining and trying to kill me is such a fucking inconvenience for you.

That was when Sunghoon knew he fucked up. He tried apologizing to her but she went offline. "Way to go, Sunghoon." 

He plopped on his bed and sighed. He really was excited for today and felt a little upset they couldn't go, but he felt like an absolute jerk to Hyemin. He thought of going to apologize to her in person for his selfishness but wondered if she needed space. 

Meanwhile, Hyemin waited hours for Sunghoon to come, for him to apologize, and then they could watch a movie together and eat a bunch of snacks. She was still mad at him but she did miss his annoying chatter. 

There's no way she fell for Park Sunghoon right?

The next day while walking to school, Hyemin felt unquestionably weird. She usually either walked to school with Sunghoon or he would drive her there. Today, however, she had woken up early to avoid him, which she instantly regretted when she felt her cramps while walking. She checked her bag for her painkiller but cursed when she forgot to bring them. The school was not that far away from where she was but it would take her forever due to her cramps. 

Hyemin managed to arrive just in time and hurried to her class. Her cramps had gotten worse, causing her to not pay any attention whatsoever in almost all the classes. Even when they had a free class, she did not move an inch from her seat, which was super unusual as she would usually go to the library with Jiwon. 

She put her head on the table and sighed. She had been too busy to even realize Sunghoon has been missing since the second class. That was until one of her classmates, Lily, put a plastic bag on her table. 

"Sunghoon told me to give this to you," 

Hyemin muttered a small thank-you and peeked inside. There were painkillers, chips, a bunch of chocolates, and a hot pack in the bag. There was even a small note telling her to hang in there. A stupid smile made its way to her face and she chuckled. She looked up and scanned for the boy in her class. 

"He's in the medical bay if that's what you're wondering."

"Oh... Do you know why he's there?" she asked, standing up to go to the medical bay. Lily shrugged before leaving. Hyemin scampered to the medical wing. Even though she was still mad at him, that still didn't stop the soft side she had for him. 

She noticed the door was closed and peeked through the window. She could see he was being scolded by one of the teachers and waited anxiously outside. When the teacher was finally done, she entered the room.

Hyemin stood there and stared at him with furrowed eyebrows, trying her best to look angry. 

"Fine morning, isn't it?" Sunghoon smiled sheepishly. He surely did not expect her to come, considering she was still mad at him. 

She rolled her eyes and approached him. Both his knees were badly scared and bleeding. His palms were injured too but it wasn't as bad as his knees. "Sunghoon, what happened?"

"I fell down....?"

"Well, are you okay?" 

He grinned, showing his teeth. "Never better."

Hyemin got the first-aid kit and crouched down. She started cleaning his injuries and Sunghoon just watched. The awkward tension was going higher by the second and he cleared his throat. 

"You got my delivery right?"

"Yeah."

"Worth scraping my knees I guess," he muttered to himself. 

"When did you even buy it?" she asked. She gestured for his hands and began cleaning them too. 

"Like an hour ago. "

"But the school closes its gates—"

"I climbed over the gates," he replied calmly. 

"You what?!"

"And then I fell while coming back. But it's fine because—"

She smacked his head earning a groan from him. "You climbed over the gates? Do you wanna get in trouble or something, Sunghoon?"

"I saw you had very bad cramps so... And I wanted to apologize too," he avoided her gaze and pouted. 

Hyemin then felt bad for smacking him. "What you did was thoughtful, but you didn't have to do that. You should put yourself before me, okay?"

"But—"

"No buts. Don't do anything stupid anymore, okay?"

He nodded at her words. 

"At least, you didn't get detention," said Hyemin, thinking positively. 

"About that..." 

"Park Sunghoon." she eyed him.

He immediately changed the topic. "Wanna go to Jake's party tonight?"
