I challenged myself to take a random dialogue out of a book and build a story out of it (I just blindly flipped through the pages and took the first thing I came across). I didn't really plan it out, just had fun with the flow : )
Dialogue: "He'll be brilliant, sir," said Jamie. (Book - 'Department 19' by Will Hill)
*****
"He'll be brilliant, sir," said Jamie.
"I'm sure he will. He's quite a promising young man." Said the Professor.
The engine behind them hissed to life along with the tumbling gears. The thick grey pipes traced the derelict walls from the engine room through the control room, where The Professor and Jamie was, to the chamber in front of them. The pipes chimed and churned as the gas from the pipes descended into the chamber and started to blanket the floor. The gas twisted and turned in unnatural spirals around the chamber.
In the middle of the chamber amidst the rising gas lied a thin metal desk behind of which, a man in his late 20's sat motionlessly. His wrists were pinned to the table with two chunky black handcuffs. The bleak grey-green pants and white sweater blended in with his pale wrinkled skin. His physique matched with that of a twig which had fallen off a drought ridden tree. Parts of his scalp were exposed to the cold air in the missing patches of his greasy hair. The distressed frown of his mouth only complimented his face which was shriveled up like a raisin. Although the man was definitely in his 20's, anyone who saw him would've assumed that he had aged beyond the limits of life.
Contrary to his looks, the raw emotion in his somber eyes as the stared right through the double-sided mirror into The Professor's eyes was young. Wild even. It was fueled by a youthful yearning to a life that had been stolen from him; nourished by anger and hate towards The Professor and the corporation.
He loathed the corporation. His hate for the corporation could be measured by neither the metric nor the imperial system. This hate is what got him here in the first place. He's been here, in this chamber, for what felt like an eternity. He kept saying to himself 'I will make them pay. It's all be worth it when I get to see the remorse on their pathetic faces.' He held on to this as it was the only thing keeping him away from insanity. They will feel the remorse for what they have done to everyone else who sat in this cold, dark chamber of hell praying to be welcomed by the warm embrace of death.
'Just wait till you find out what this chamber truly creates.' The chamber does not create the superhuman mercenary soldiers they were hoping for but monsters. Dreadful, wretched monsters. No human could possibly endure this... power, yes, the power that was coursing through their veins, the power that allowed them to hear and see even beyond what modern technology can. The same power that made their minds go insane, slowly, eating away at their human limits. No ordinary human could ever be expected to come out at the other end. But he was no ordinary human, he had somehow by some miracle made it to the final stage of the process. One final push and he can bring justice for all those whom the corporation has wronged before.
The fumes from the gas had been circulating through his body. He felt the thumping on his chest getting faster, and the swish-swosh of the blood gushing through his carotid arteries on his neck. His senses had heightened to the point where his own breathing was deafening. Despite all this, he stayed strong because today was the day which he could harness the true potential of his power. Today vengeance shall sway over the wretched. Today the corporation will fall.
Heyyoo 👋 this is just something i randomly scribbled down in the middle of the night to exercise my writing muscles 💪 but i did write more to this and i might update this later. Have a great day folks ✌
