Starting in Jades POV. Unlike the rest of the main characters Jade is fictional.
I walked into my new school number 12. I'm in my senior year finally. I looked my my schedule and my found my way to my first period class, science. I sat down in the back and took out my phone. I scrolled through Instagram until the bell rang; when it did I hid my phone in my backpack. A few more people filed into the classroom. No one sat next to me. Good, maybe I can make it through the year with no partner. The last person to come in was a tall boy with curly brown hair and brown eyes. I looked around for an empty seat that wasn't next to me; there wasn't one. He sat down next to me.
"Hey I'm Finn," the boy said. Great. Just what I needed. Maybe if we don't get too much out of school partner work then I'll survive. But until I know that I need to make sure I keep my distance.
"Don't talk to me and maybe you'll make it through the year," I said. Yes, that should do it. He put his hands up in mock surrender. Funny. Great.
"Yes ma'am," he joked. Ugh this is going to be a long year. I rolled my eyes and looked at the teacher. I could feel him staring at me while I took notes. I may hate school, but I don't suck at it. When class ended I decided to find my locker; when I did I put all of my books into it.
After four more classes lunch came. I took my shade out of my locker, along with my phone, and went outside. I sat down near the field and put in my AirPods. I played abcdefu by GAYLE on a loop. I started scrolling through Instagram again while eating my salad. Six pairs of shoes appeared in front of me; I looked up. It was Finn from science class.
"Hey 'no name'," Finn said. I turned up my volume and pointed to my AirPods, referring to the fact that I couldn't hear him. He didn't go away. This might be a long year.
"Sorry; can't hear you," I said, still pointing to my AirPods. He grabbed my phone and paused my music. I stood up. He was only about two feet away from me. He had a small smirk on his face. This boy is going to be the end of me.
"Hey what the fuck was that?!" I asked. I reached for my phone, but he held it away from me. What is his problem?
"What's your name?" He asked. Is this seriously what this is about!? My name?! This guy is mental.
"Jade. My name is Jade. Now can I have my phone back?" I asked. He didn't give me my phone. Instead his smirk turned into a smile.
"Come on; you really think that I'm going to let a girl like you sit alone? That'd be really crappy. Come sit with me and my friends," he proposed. If it'll get me my phone back...
"Fine," I said. He handed my my phone and I gathered my stuff. I followed him back to his friends.
"Guys this is Jade; Jade these are my friends. Millie, Noah, Caleb, Sadie, and Gaten," he said. I sat down between Finn and Millie. We all started talking. They're all actually really nice and Finn isn't as bad as I thought.
Sorry if I jump around a lot.
It's after school and I'm at Millie's house. I originally came over so that we could work on a project we have in reading, but we got bored and started talking.
"Finn really like you by the way," Millie said. Probably just as a friend. "Like more than a friend," she added. I was proven wrong.
"Why?" I asked. "I mean he's only known me for a day."
"I overheard him talking to Celeb about you non-stop in math class," she said. Maybe he does like me. I mean he did take his dear sweet time just to get me to sit with them. "Just be careful; he's not always the most loyal person."
"I don't plan on falling in love anytime soon."
After an hour I went home. When I got home my dad was sitting on the couch. It was 8:00 so my brother- Micheal (he's ten)- is probably in bed.
"You're home late," he slurred, clearly drunk. "Where were you?"
"At a friends house," I replied as I hung my coat up in the closet. As long as I remain calm nothing can go wrong. I walked into the living room.
"A boys house?" He asked; he was now standing in front of the couch looking at me.
"No," I replied. I tried my best to keep my voice steady, but it still wavered a little. He came closer to me.
"Don't lie to me Jadelyn," he said. His voice was as cold as stone, but remained somehow normal. He's been like this ever since my mom died. She had cancer and died when I was twelve. I had now backed myself up against the wall. He was about three feet from me.
A step closer. Two.
Another step. One.
"You know I don't like it when you lie to me," he said. His breath reeked up alcohol.
"I'm not-" I started. He hit me across the face. I fell to the floor. My head collided with the corner of a table. I could feel my cold blood drip down my face. He kneeled down i front of me and lifted my face.
"You're a disgrace," he said, dropping my head and leaving the room. I waited until his bedroom door shut before I went to my room.
You might be a little confused about the song I put at the top but I put it there to kind of represent Jade's at home life and why she comes on so strong at first.
Sorry my chapters are probably going to be really short.
