Chapter 4: The republic

Clotted Cream wish he wasn't there. That he didn't have to sit through that meeting. But he was there alright.

The meeting hall was gigantic. As several waterfalls sat around the meeting hall decorating the room as a series of bright lights lit the room up. Other than Siri and himself, he didn't recognise the other individuals the room. He was annoyingly seated next to Siri, the person whose name he still didn't know, so he just called them they/them or person.
"Hello Clotted Cream. How are you..? I hope we don't have any hard feelings with one another after last night..."
Siri greeted as Clotted Cream tried desperately to break free from the restraints that bound him to the chair as he let out a muffled scream.
"What are you going to do?"
Was what he was trying to say.
"Mhm... I don't understand you. Nevermind for now,"
Siri said as a couple more people entered the room.

"Good morning, fellow members of the council. Today we are here to discuss the Crème Republic,"
the man in the middle said.

Of the nine people who were part of the Chocolate Republic, two of which were Couverture and Siri, the main consuls of the Republic. The other seven were Ruby Chocolate, Askinosie, Unsweetened Chocolate, Semisweet Chocolate, Bounty Chocolate, Almond Chocolate and Sweet German Chocolate.

The seven were a little shock to see Clotted Cream next to Siri but accepted such as a sign of how successful Couverture was in raising his child.

"Alright... How should we deal with the Crème Republic..? Cause I would suggest we start a truce! Violence isn't necessarily the answer is it?"
Ruby Chocolate suggested as she pointed out her points.
"I wouldn't think so hun... Think of them like wild bounties. We wouldn't want to let them stay any longer like a bounty! Otherwise they're gonna cause us some issues!" Bounty Chocolate laughed as she threw back her gun and slammed the other down onto the table. Sweet German cut through. "But Ruby Chocolate is correct. One of our very rules is to avoid violence as much as possible... Is it not?" "Huh? You going against me German?" Bounty and questioned as she slammed her foot into to the table, facing the male next to her. "In fact I am. And put your foot down. It's rude. And we have a guest," German Chocolate answered as he shoved Bounty's foot off the table as she fell. She laughed as she got back up. Unsweetened Chocolate spoke up. "Why not we first try to suggest a truce, but if that fails, then we act accordingly on how the Crème Republic acts-"
That was when someone cut her off.

"Couverture Couverture! Why not we just wipe them out? The Crème Republic and Crème Republic only? Their quite pathetic, and they are a bother as well!"
Askinosie yawned as he mocked the republic. Clotted Cream instantly felt his blood boil upon hearing that. The Republic, pathetic? This person had some nerves saying that in front of him.
"Ha! They claim they want to end darkness, but their far from that! Their even worse than us!"
"Askinosie, don't you think your going to far?"
Almond Chocolate questioned, tension laced in their voice as Askinosie stood up and stepped out his seat.
"Why not we see what their dearest young consul thinks?"
Askinosie said as he looked to Siri, who pulled down the gag on Clotted Cream's mouth and called back the chains it allow him to express himself fully.

"How dare you insult the Crème Republic? They put their best effort into what their doing and you have the audacity to insult them like that?"
Clotted Cream demanded as he slammed his hands onto the table. Askinosie shooked his head and sighed. He took a step towards Siri and Clotted Cream.
"Askinosie, don't taunt him-" "SH-! It's getting interesting!" Bounty shushed Sweet German as she sat down and watched the drama.

"Couverture...We definitely wipe out the Crème Republic... They certainly are a bother!" Askinosie continued to taunt as Clotted Cream tried to keep his composure as Siri watches from the sidelines.

Askinosie seemed to enjoy where he was going with his insults as he started mocking the Crème Republic more. "Their just as bad as your parents... You know that? Admit it... Their just as bad as those lowly creatures you address as your parents,"
Askinosie laughed. Clotted Cream lost it. He stood up and got ready to punch the man in face.
"WHY YOU-  ARGH!"
Clotted Cream was about to land a punch in the man's face only to be dragged back by a rope. It started to slowly bound him as he struggled to get free. He choked as the ropes wrapped around him tighter, making it impossible to move. He felt exhausted as they bound tighter. A rope too wrapped around his mouth, silencing him. He let out a series of muffled yelps and screams as he tried to get free. Eventually, he became to weak to withstand his body weight and fell to the ground.

"Those ropes drain energy. A stronger one drains health too, but energy for now..." Siri mentioned quietly.

"Oi! Siri! It was about to get interesting!"
Bounty screamed as Askinosie stepped back.
"Master Askinosie... You went to far... I might have went overboard too...."
"In fact, we both did. But thank you for protecting and ensuring my safety,"
Askinosie said as he took a seat.
"The both of you, you both are excused from the meeting. I and the rest of the counsel will continue with the meeting," Couverture ordered Siri and Clotted Cream. Siri nodded and bowed down as they picked Clotted Cream up and got him to his feet and left the room.
Without his cloak, he was practically defense less against all those people. Wherever they left it, he wanted to know so he could get it back.
"My sincerest apologies Clotted Cream..."
Siri apologised as at the corner of his eye, he saw a bandage on their forehead.

~flashback~
"What? He hit you with a chair?"
Almond Chocolate gasped as Siri reported what happened to the council.
"Yes... Badly controlled and made to believe the Crème Republic. I don't blame him... But the Crème Republic... I can't forgive them..."
Siri answered as Bounty sat aside.
"I don't support hitting you, but I love that kid! Bold and daring! He'd be a great addition here!"
"If! If he accepted us and didn't keep believing that filthy republic!"
Askinosie grumbled as he painted his nails. "Ooh... I like that colour Askinosie! What is it!" Bounty leaned to the man and asked. "Chocolate brown. It'll suit you quite well!" Askinosie answered (yes, he wears nail polish cause boys with make up and nail polish are ✨fabulous✨ for who they are~).
"So you chained him down more?" Couverture asked. Siri nodded. "Very well then... I suppose this meeting could come to an end. You got the proper medical treatment right?" Couverture continued. Siri nodded.

The short meeting came to an end.
Siri walked back to their chamber as it was already 2 am.

Couverture's words shook through their head as they walked up the stairs. The bandages on their forehead helped cover the wound as it healed a little faster from the magic. They opened the hatch door and entered the room. They were exhausted. So they locked the door and went to sleep.

~End of flashback~
Siri entered Clotted Cream's chamber as they were about to carry him to the bed only for him to kick them in the chest. Out of shock, the dropped him to the ground as he winced in pain.

"I don't need your help..."
He said. Siri meekly nodded before exiting his room and going to bed them self...
