It's been 7 years since I've seen Q or anyone from his rogue pack.

Archer and I have been moving around a lot and so far everyone has accepted our story of that I'm a young mother trying to find her footing in different areas with my young son.

Now Archer and I walked down the grocery store aisle. I let him push the cart from the bottom since he couldn't reach the handle, I just steered a little bit.

"Marina?" Archer called for me looking up at me innocently with his lavender eyes, eyes just like his father's.

"Yes?" I reply mindlessly, picking up a nearby off-brand cereal box and reading the nutrients. Usually I'd scold him for calling me by name rather than mom in public, but it's an odd hour to be shopping so there isn't really anyone around.

"Can we get chocolate?" He asked with his sweetest voice, knowing I'm a sucker for his puppy face and voice.

"If you're good, I'll get some," I tease, putting the box in the cart. I've picked up enough jobs along the way that I can splurge a little bit more today.

My brothers have also supported me, once in a while sending a generous allowance via a private bank account.

Fear of running into Q, I didn't go back to the pack and I sent them a letter when Archer turned 1 to assure them with the bank information.

It's a bit strange to do that, but I knew they would do anything to try and atone for what they did to me and monetary atonement seemed to be the way.

"Mom?" Archer probably noticed someone, switching to calling me mom, "There's someone looking at us."

I froze, turning my head slowly away from the line of snacks and looking over a man staring right at us from the front of the store.

Taking a deep breath, I muttered a spell allowing me to see what will this man will do when we leave the store. He went and phoned someone, and soon will talk to who looks like Zach, Q's beta.

A slight ache tinged my head, and I decided to quicken up our shopping.

"Mom?" Archer questioned as I hurriedly grabbed a few snacks and his beloved chocolate.

"Mommy realized she forgot something," I whispered to him, crouching down to whisper in his ear, "When we get home pack your things, okay?"

He nodded knowingly, knowing the process and not to question my decisions.

My visions are still blurry when they pertain to myself and my mate, but I've seen what happens to Archer should he be put back in his real mother's care. But that was in the past if I were to return to Q.

But what happens if I were to return to him now? I paused in the middle of paying the cashier, thinking over this for a moment.

I never looked at the possibility of going back to my mate now that Archer's older, for futures that aren't certain are more of a headache.

"Ma'am?" the cashier got my attention back, and quickly apologizing I gave her my money, taking my groceries and handing Archer a lighter bag.

He likes to be my little helper.

The man watched us the whole time, following me out and pulling out his phone just as I for saw.

Maybe it's for the best.

Maybe I should go back to my mate.

Or maybe not.
