"Ms L/N? Are you here?" A doctor called, as I stood up from the pleather seat, keeping my arms wrapped around my chest to keep me warm, as a chesty cough escaped my lips.
He smiled as I stood up, and as I begun to follow him he turned, walking towards his office, all the way down the back of the GP.

"Take a seat, Ms L/N." He said, pointing to the chair as he sat in his, leaning his head on his hand as he just looked at me.

I smiled awkwardly, before turning away to cough again.

"You can just call me Y/N. I'm fine with that. Doctor Han usually sees me, but he's out today, so... I just need a new prescription." I explained, pulling a small pill bottle from my coat. An empty pill bottle.

"Ah, yes, Doctor Han. Me and him are quite good friends - oh, and I'm Doctor Chan by the way, but Chan is fine." He grinned, picking up the bottle.

"Anxiety meds? Is that why you're coughing? Or is that something else?" Chan asked, typing on his computer as he began to make a new prescription.

"It's just a cold." I mumbled, as he sighed.

"It's flu season. Do you mind if I check you out?" He asked, rolling away from his desk as he tugged at the stethoscope at his neck.

I nodded, tugging at the hem of my shirt.

"Alright." He said, putting the stethoscope in his ears, and the cold metallic end onto my chest.

"Breathe in."

I took in a shaky breath.

"Breathe out."

I exhaled, fighting a cough.

He hummed, taking the stethoscope back out from under my shirt, frowning.
"How else do you feel? Any other symptoms?"

"I'm cold, but that may just be me." I said quietly, coughing again.

Chan nodded, typing on his computer again.
"It sounds to me like there's liquid in your lungs, Y/N. Which is an issue, if it's pneumonia. Which I feel it is, so I'll prescribe you some antibiotics for that, which is completely safe to take with your anxiety meds. Just take them 2 times a day with food." He explained, printing the prescription.

"Doesn't pneumonia kill people?" I asked, my voice shaky this time out of anxiety.

Chan smiled gently, as he placed a hand on my leg.

"Only if it's not caught in time. You're lucky you came here today and I checked it out, Y/N." He replied quietly, leaning back to grab both prescriptions, signing them off.

"Take them for two weeks, and then come back to see me, okay?" He smiled, standing up.

I stood up too, bowing in thanks as he just laughed

"No need for that, Y/N." He replied, opening the door for me, as I stepped out.

"Thank you, Doctor." I smiled, walking down the hallway.

"It's been my pleasure, Y/N." Chan waved me off, before checking his list of patients again.

When I got to the pharmacy, they were quick in giving me my pills, and then I was on the way home.

My roommate, Felix, greeted me as I wandered on inside, instantly falling onto the couch.
He was in the kitchen, the smell of brownies wafting throughout the apartment.

"So? How'd it go?" Felix asked, pulling the tray out of the oven as he set it aside to cool, before coming to sit next to me on the couch.

"Good, yeah. I got my pills. It was a different doctor this time. I have a bit of a sniffle too, and he reckons it's pneumonia," on saying that I saw Felix's face fall, as he placed the plate of brownies down, "but I've got some medicine, so it should be alright."

"I hope so, truly. Do you have a follow up appointment? I can take you next time, so you don't have to take a cab." Felix said, as I smiled, leaning into his shoulder, as he pulled me close, wrapping the blanket that was sitting over the back of the couch around my shoulders, offering me a brownie.

"Two weeks from now. But we'll just see how it goes." I smiled, taking the brownie graciously, grinning as I took a bite.

"They're so good, Felix, thank you, I feel better already." I smiled, before coughing again.
He got up to get me a drink as I lay out on the couch, feeling my eyes shut almost on their own, as sleep took over me, I felt the blanket move as Felix covered me over.

"Goodnight, Y/N, feel better tomorrow, okay?"
