Deshmukh House

The Mehndi ceremony preparation was going in full swing at Deshmukhs.

Pallavi was getting ready for the ceremony in her room. She had worn a green colour lehenga & golden blouse with green net dupatta wrapped around her. Her hair was done in half braids. Her makeup was minimal.

"Pallu, tu ready ho ga-" Aai entered her room & was awed by Pallavi's look.

"Kitni sundar lag rahi hai" She put a kaala teeka on her, "Kisiki nazar na lage" Pallavi smiled at this gesture.

Pallavi & Aai came downstairs & greeted everyone. Leaving Aai the guests, she went to check the arrangements.

Meanwhile Raghav Rao made an entry at the Deshmukhs. He had come to the function just to see his Amma & Kirti. He was looking around for them when his eyes landed on the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. His Saree Ka Dukaan! She was looking absolutely breathtaking. Her outfit was complimenting her skin perfectly. The minimal makeup & open hair made her look beautiful. She was arranging flowers. Smirking inwardly at himself, he started walking towards her.

"Hello, Saree Ka Dukaan"

"Phir aa gaye tum yaha" She said looking irritating.

"Ofcourse, tumhara woh Bindi Waala Aunty bulaya hai mereko"

"Bulaya hai toh zaroori nahi ki aajao"

"Aisa kaisa. Deshmukh Saree Emporium ka owner hai main, toh aana hi padega na"

Pallavi rolled her eyes & continued her work.

"Waise tum iss dress mein..." She looked at him anticipating for him to compliment on her look, "Iss dress mein kya?"

He leaned towards her, "Utna bura bhi nahi lag raha hai" Winking at her he left from there.

"Yeh na sach mein Ghamandi Rao hi hai" She huffed.

The Mehndi ladies started applying Mehndi to Mansi. Others also sat down. Pallavi got Mehndi bowls from the kitchen. Seeing Pallavi being involved the ladies started gossiping. One lady went to Sulochana & asked her why is she allowing Pallavi to help in Mansi's wedding function as she being a widow will not be a good omen for Mansi. To that Sulochana replied because of Sharda & Vijay she is quite otherwise she wouldn't let Pallavi come out of her room. The lady didn't want to see Pallavi in the function so she told Sulochana to send her off.

Sulochana held Pallavi's hand who was sitting on the sofa & dragged her to the corner.

"Kya hua Kaku? Aap mujhe aise kyu leke aayi?"

"Dekho Pallavi. Dada Vahini tumse kuch nahi kehte iska matlab yeh nahi ki main chup baithungi"

"Kaku par maine-"

"Yeh meri beti ki shaadi hai aur main nahi chahti ki tum jaisi apshaguni ladki ke kaaran meri beti ki zindagi mein koi problem aaye. Isliye chup chaap yaha se jao aur functions attend karne ki zaroorat nahi hai"

"Kaku-" Pallavi tried making her understand but Kaku didnt listen.

"Mujhe kuch nahi sunna. Tum jao yaha se. Aur apni manhoos shakal leke functions mein mat aana" Saying this she left from there.

Pallavi stood there rooted. She was hurt by Kaku's words. What was her mistake if her husband died on the night of her wedding? What did she do? Her eyes got moist.
