The Diner Date

"Wow, Lauren aren't you excited?!" Sammie nearly screamed "oh yeah, overjoyed" I said with a frown. "Lauren Alexandra Del Prado! Kalin is a nice boy! He is kind, funny, and into you! So unless you want to be alone for the wrest if your life, be nice!" She nearly shouted. Thank god there wasn't anyone else in here. "...I kinda would rather be alone" I said under my breath, she looked up from her phone looked me dead in the eye & kicked me in the shin under the table. We sat there in silence for a little while, she insured we got there early so waited for the boys. Myles walked through the door & Sammie walked over to him giving him a hug "hey, Lauren" I just gave a simple smile & a wave. Sammie & Myles sat on one side of the booth across from me. Myles has been sitting here for 10 minutes. Hmm. Maybe Kalin wasn't coming. Either way I didn't really care. "Oh, did Kalin find some girl to hook up with in the tour bus?" I asked only half joking. Sammies eyes got wide her face was expressionless, & there it was again a kick in the shin under the table. "Umm actually he's trying to pick out an outfit.. He should be here soon. I think he wanted to impress you" Myles said with s smirk. Oh goody. Lucky me. Just as I looked up Kalin walked in with a teddy bear in his had "happy birthday Lauren! Sorry for hitting you in the head" Kalin said, I could hear him smiling when he was talking. I couldn't help but laughs a little "thank you, & it's all good" I said nonchalantly. "Wait you hit her with a door?!" Sammie half yelled half laughed. Sammie's laughing caused Myles to laugh & sent sprite pouring out of his nose, which made Kalin & I laugh, so we all sat there laughing for what felt like forever. After our little laugh attack we all went up to order food. While we were eating my phone went off, I quickly declined the call, this happened 4 more times. "Um Lauren? Are you gonna get that?" Kalin asked "oh uh yeah" I got up from the table & stepped outside answering the phone.
Phone call: L (Lauren) S (Stranger)
L: "...hello?"
S: "hello beautiful, miss me?"
L: "Ethan, I'll call the police!"
S: "they didn't do anything before why would they do something now?"
L: "stop calling me!"
I could feel the tears start to run down my face. "Lauren...are you okay? We saw you from the window, you seemed upset so I came to check on you." Kalin said in a sweet soothing voice. I turned around nodding my head.
S: "Lauren! Who are you talking to? That better not be a boy! I'll fucking kill you!"
Kalin must have heard what Ethan was saying because he grabbed the phone out of my hand.
"Yes, I am a boy & you will not touch her, if I hear that you touched her or threatened her again, me & you are going to have some serious problems, do you understand?"
S: "kid. Stay out of this.."
Then the phone hung up. Kalin handed me my phone back & hugged me. I hugged him back, he was strong. Something about him made me feel safe. I buried my head in his chest, my whole body shook with sobs. He picked me up bridal style & carried me. I couldn't see where we were going because my eyes were blurry with tears. A part of me didn't care. I didn't bother to ask. For some reason, I trusted this boy. He sat me down on a bench. I pulled my knees up to my chest & wrested my chin on them. He sat down & turned me towards him. "Lauren...who was that guy?" His voice cracked like he was going to cry. Why was he going to cry? Why did he care? "That-*sob*-was-*sob*-my-*sob*-ex boyfriend. I'm sorry. "Why are you sorry? You didn't do anything. That guy is s total dick. I don't know the whole story but you should never treat a girl like that." I didn't have the strength to say anything back. I just put my head on hiss holder & tried to calm down. After a while we walked back to chipotle where we found Sammie & Myles sitting in the exact same place. "Lauren where have you been?" Sammie asked. I didn't know what to say "we just went for a little walk" Kalin said saving me. He put his hand on my lower back & helped me into my chair. I watched as Myles & Sammie both exchanged confused glances. Then Kalin & Myles exchanged a glance as to say "I'll tell you later". Sammie looked at Kalin like "what the hell?" No one bothered to look at me. Maybe because they knew it wasn't a good time. After a while of listening to everyone talk I started to get tired. I could tell Sammie was too. She was having so much fun with Myles I couldn't bear to drag her home. "Umm Sammie I'm really tired, why don't we just rent a hotel room here for the night?" Her face lit up "yeah, I'm tired too". After a little more chatting Sammie we decided to go for a walk & find a hotel. Once we found a hotel, we walked inside. A nice lady at the front gave us our room keys & the boys walked us up. I said goodbye to the boys & started walking into my room. Kalin turned me around & hugged me "goodnight Lauren. Sweet dreams, Sammie has my number. Text me in the morning when you wake up." "Okay, I will.." He let go & started to walk away "oh & Kalin thanks... For earlier." He winked & said "no problem" Sammie said good bye to Myles & we stood at our door watching them walk down the hall. We didn't have any extra clothes so with out a word we slipped into the king size bed & drifted to sleep.
