Content: Green's death in AvM episode 7 from Green's point of view.

---------------------------

Green was seeing red.

He pulled out flint and steel.

A flash of orange-

****

He was on the ground. There was a puddle of items around him. He couldn't move. He was stuck at this angle on the ground and was still seeing red-

Oh. His vision was actually red. And there were words in front of his face.

You died!

Oh.

Oh.

This is what happened when someone ran out of hearts in Minecraft. This was death.

None of them had actually taken enough damage to die before. The only time they had gotten close was during their initial encounter with the block.

This wasn't too bad.

He supposed he should select the Respawn button (however one was supposed to do that without a cursor).

Then it came back to him.

Orange had started it.

Shouldn't Orange have known that their build was going to be large? He had even seen images of what everyone was going to build!

And then he had the gall to destroy that wall without a "May I?" or a "Would it be alright?" or even a "Hey, we need more space".

And then Orange had pulled out his sword.  On Green.

(Well... Green did take out his sword first. And had taken the first swing.  But Orange had started all this, so it wasn't Green's fault.)

He was tempted to not respawn for a while. Let Orange stew in it for a bit.

...

He was still staring at that debris pile.

Then there was a muffled clatter of a sword. Then the sound of -

...was someone crying?

Multiple someones were definitely crying. Someone was inconsolably sobbing. It didn't stop.

It sounded like Orange.

He could make out a few words... "so sorry... I'm so... didn't... what have..."

Oh.

He felt the anger drain out of him.

The others didn't know he could respawn. They thought he was dead dead.

(Maybe he shouldn't have pulled out his sword in the first place.)

...

Maybe he should respawn.

But how did that work? Would he lose memories? Would he be the same Green? Blue would've advised caution, and Yellow would've thoroughly researched "death in Minecraft for stick figures" before doing anything.

...

Well, it wasn't like he had another option.

So was he supposed to select that button? Perhaps if he focused-

--------

The world was white. He blinked.

He could see. He looked down. Good, he had a normal body. He waved an arm and stomped on the floor. Yeah, real enough. He thought through a few memories. Yes, he was definitely still Green.

He looked around. He had come back... well, respawned, in their house. Huh.

He checked his inventory. It was empty, then he remembered that his stuff had been scattered across the floor where he had died. The others had probably picked it up by now.

Full health. Full hunger. No XP. The others would be glad to know.

Speaking of the others, where were they?

He exited the house.

Their builds were still there. On second glance, there was a nice little platform joining the two. On a third glance, he saw them on the second floor. They were grouped around something.

Was that a table? Were those flowers?

Could it be-

Was that-

Were they having a funeral?

...

Oh my.

...

He edged a little closer. He squinted. Did they-

Had they actually-

Was that slime ball supposed to be him?

He smothered a snort.

They looked just as despondent as when he had last seen, or rather heard, him.

Well, they were in for a surprise.

An undead surprise...

He felt a grin spread across his face as the idea solidified. Just a harmless little prank, no damage, and he'd call it even with Orange afterward.

He climbed up the back of the house.

He could see a hand just about to place down a flower-

He leaped out-

****

His vision was red again.
