Notes: Howdy! If you've been on the Ice Climber tag on AO3 (assuming you actually care about a game released in 1984 with no sequels continuing the 'series') then you should probably know that I've published this fic there almost three months ago. So this is just a repost from AO3 to Wattpad. Originally, my fic was just going to be an ordinary Ice Climber fic but then my AO3 account invitation changed it's date from the 17th of February to the 14th of February so I had to publish it for Valentine's day. I didn't publish it here nor in Fanfiction.net for some reason (though it was mostly because I had to have a cover for my fic in both sites which I didn't want to bother) so I decided to publish it now almost three months late from Valentine's day. This was my first ever fic I've written and published so I apologize for any errors I made.

Other Notes: The image cover is completely unrelated to this fic but the image is mine. I wrote this fic down on Google Docs. This fic includes several headcanons I made up myself considering Ice Climber have little to no lore or background. Yes, they're only children in this story (I like to interpret them as young lovers). More importantly, the Ice Climbers are NOT related. Their relationship is up to the player's imagination. I always saw them as a couple when I started liking them and it gradually came to this extent when all of a sudden they became my two favorite fictional characters. Also, there are hints that they do have a loving relationship. The Melee opening had them high-fiving each other with a heart coming out of their hands. They're mostly stated as friends most of the time at least. But hey, that's just my opinion on their relationship.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this story I made.

It was a cold snowy almost sunset evening at Icicle Mountain as two little climbers, both aged eight with one wearing a blue parka and the other wearing a pink parka, climbed down the mountain. The boy wearing blue is Popo and the girl wearing pink is Nana. They were mostly referred to by people as 'The Ice Climbers' or just 'Ice Climbers' due to them being very talented at climbing mountains despite the fact that they're still very young. They were climbing the mountain in order to retrieve a stolen sack full of eggplants from a greedy condor while also collecting a few vegetables along the way, nothing out of the ordinary for them.

As they made their way down the mountain, they decided to sit down to rest a bit near the edge of a cliff. They put down the sack of vegetables and their hammers down as they sat beside each other while looking at the beautiful view from there.

"Don't you think the view looks great from here Popo?" Nana said as she decided to start a conversation about the view with Popo. "It does, and it looks so much better during the sunset." Popo answered. "I know, we usually see the view from here during midday or during the night but never have we seen it during the sunset." Nana agreed with Popo.

"I can see our entire village from here." Nana pointed out. "Me too and the sunset just makes it look prettier." Popo said. "It's beautiful"

"Like you." Popo added her.

Nana was shocked after what she heard. "W-What?" Nana answered him with a question, which made Popo blushed as he realized what he just said to Nana and tried to hide his blush. Nana was also surprised and also started blushing which made Popo blush a little bit more due to how red Nana was.

There was a long silence between them as they were thinking about what he said. "Did Popo just called me beautiful?" Nana thought to herself. "I know he likes to compliment me but this one feels like he was trying to touch my heart with his words rather than the usual cheer up compliment he usually does." Nana thought about it more. "Is there a possibility that Popo likes me just as much as how I like him?" Nana questioned herself.

It's been a long time since they've become best friends, dating back to the time when they were still infants actually. As time grew, Nana's view on Popo seemed to have changed. He was and still is her best friend but Nana seems to see and admire him more in a romantic way and has developed a BIG crush on him.
