Gate. Liam. So, he picks up his school bag waves a farewell to his friends and joins me at the gate. "Are you going to go tonight?" he started.

"Yeah," I replied "I have to."

"No, you don't," he answered "I mean, it's completely up to you if you don't want to, then you don't have to."

"Yeah?" I said "What the fuck am I supposed to do when they come asking to be killed? I just spare them the misery called life."

"Okay," Liam said "Okay, I mean it's completely up to you."

Sure it is sure

I wasn't sure how to reply to this so I just stayed quiet and stared at a certain spot on the ground. Liam seemed to have given up on the conversation and started making his way to our flat. I followed hastily and continued to stare at the ground, nearly running into a fire hydrant. Liam giggled seeing me trip and I glared at him. We reached the door of our apartment building and went in straight through to the lift and onto the 27th floor. I fumbled in my pockets for my keys, I found it in the depths of my pocket and opened the door. Struggling as the rusty key got jammed in the lock.

"LIAM THE FUCKING KEY GOT JAMMED AGAIN!!" I bellowed.

"Yeah I can see that," Liam said rolling his eyes.

"Don't get smart with me Lima." I replied snidely.

" Alright, Lou relax. Give me the keys." He said sticking his hand out.

" Well I can't Liam I told you it's fucking stuck in the lock."

"Oh yeah, move," he responded dumbly. Liam gently pushed me out of the way as he crept closer towards the door. He looked at the key with distaste and then suddenly grabbed onto it and yanked with all his might. The key flew out of the lock and landed on the carpeted hallway a few metres away. I ran to go grab it and was met with a pair of bright blue eyes staring into mine.

"Ello mate!! Me name's Niall, what's yours?" he stated.

"Um, hi I'm Louis," I replied not liking how he was looking at me with his face radiating happiness like a thousand suns. I wasn't supposed to feel happy, not now I'm a murderer. But I guess his happiness was contagious because a grin slowly crept onto my face.

"Is this your apartment?" He asked pointing to my door.

"Why yes it is, do you want to come in? I was just making a cuppa."

"Don't mind if I do, I'd never pass up the opportunity for tea or food."

I smiled to myself thinking that I liked this man, as a friend of course. Oh, did I forget to mention? I'm gay, (AN: It's pretty unfortunate isn't it Eleanor) I have been out since like forever but there's this girl at work called Eleanor who just won't take the hint. Like bitch I'm not into you I like dick. So anygays, Niall seemed to be enjoying himself as he gobbled up the butter cake and the ginger tea. I like him, I think we're going to get along real well. We ended up talking for almost three hours when he decided that he better head home, so I stood up from the couch taking the plates and cups off his hands. Then, I remembered that if we were going to be friends we needed more ways to contact each other,

"So Niall what's your apartment number?" I questioned.

"It's on floor twenty-eight, the one above this one and the flat number so happens to be two hundred and twenty-eight which would be the one directly above this."

"Mm, so you're the person who wakes up at two in the morning and stomps your feet like an elephant,"

"Ahh no, that would be my flatmate." He replied his face looking cheeky as he thought of his flat mate.

"His name is Harry, I should bring him down here to meet you two someday."

I smiled excitedly and asked,

"Does this mean we're friends?," oh my god that sounded way better in my head. My cheeks flushed in embarrassment but to my surprise he didn't tease me and replied with.

"Yes, we're besties now, give me your number. For research purposes of course." He grinned his smile as wide as a cruise ship whilst holding out his phone. I reciprocated his grin and snatched his phone from his hands. I typed my number into his phone, my eyebrows furrowed with concentration. I shoved his phone back into his hand that was already outstretched and ushered him out of my apartment closing the door behind him. Liam looked at me and I looked at him.

"What?" I asked cocking one of my eyebrows in a questioning manner.

"You made another friend, you haven't talked to someone that comfortably since I've known you since we were six years old. We're twenty-five years old now," he taunted, his voice was teasing his face crested with an impish grin but his eyes looked sincere. Almost, proud? I simply rolled my eyes in response and walked into my room and closed the door shut. I climbed into my bed adorned with black sheets that had stars all over it. This felt nice, I had another friend. I think? But my smile faltered, he wouldn't like me if he knew I was a murderer. I rapidly blinked my eyes, tears were threatening to run down my cheeks. I can't cry now I haven't cried in years. I never cry. But my lifestyle was taking a toll on me, I couldn't stop them as the tears spilled over and started to cascade down my cheeks. I bit my lip trying not to sob, Liam couldn't hear me. I burrowed my face further into the comfort of my soft pillow as the tears became stronger. It was like a tidal wave flooding down my cheeks, months of stress and 'nights' all began to stream down my face.

It felt like a lifetime that I spent just cocooned in blankets and my face hidden within the soft seams of my pillow. I realized that it was time, it was time to go. To go and do the thing I dreaded most. I stood up shakily, my feet numb from lying in one place for too long and went through my drawers looking for my black beanie. I dress myself in all black looking like living melanite, I grab my keys and hide my Glock 22 within the confinements of my trench coat. I walk outside and towards the café around two hundred metres away from my apartment.
