Chapter five

[It's been around 200 days since the emergency protocol awakened us. I've been hiding the autobot's base from Megatron long enough to ease his erratic behavior, but since they awakened it's been harder to convince him to not invade them. Starscream remains as obnoxious as always, suggesting to betray our leader in any chance we have, the fool ignores how powerful Megatron can be sometimes. Although he's weak from his dark energon addiction, his withdrawal symptoms are logically making him mad, he's delusional about conquering this planet, and unpredictable enough for him to become a threat.]

[There's nothing here other than an unstable core and scarce fossil fuel. Soundwave has made the calculations in the stability of the atmosphere and discovered that the star is about to collapse in about 500 more days. Our time is limited here, we are planning on abandoning the ship and give ourselves in to the autobots in the hope of salvation. We salvaged most of our ship in order to build an excavator to extract some of the planet core's energy, that way we have enough energon to survive another century, and the remaining hope of leaving this deathtrap of a solar system.]

[We sent a drone to the autobots, in order to warn about our advances and our presence, it was nothing but a bluff in order to spoil Megatron's recklessness in intimidating the enemy. Thankfully the rest of the crew is more obedient to me than to our leader's senility, they've been collaborating with their brute force and technical skills. I only hope for salvation, and Starscream's whim is increasingly tempting just because my desire is to end Megatron's suffering, but I can't risk our entire survival to please Starscream's stupidity.]

[It hasn't been more than four days since we sent the drone, and Triggerhappy has reported to me about an attack from the autobots. He's been struck by a blunt object while on patrol, he's undamaged but what surprised me is the fact that the object which hit him was the same plate we wrote for the autobots. My calculations indicate that they used primitive means to plunge the metal towards our base, it was only sheer luck that it hit Triggerhappy's in his flight route. I do not know if they're conscious about the situation, if they remain ignorant for longer then our entire species survival is at stake.]

[I notified Megatron of this, and he insisted to ambush and kidnap an autobot in order to start a negotiation. The only sensible thing he said since our crash. I asked Bludgeon and Onslaught to patrol the outskirts of the autobot base and to subdue the first badge they could spot. They agreed on the condition that they would come back unharmed, which seemed contrary to their usual thirst of battle. They seemed to be scared of Megatron's plead, which I understood since contacting an unpredictable enemy it's something we can't risk. If they become hostile towards us I can't guarantee our survival, so I asked them to be docile and obedient towards their terms in the negotiation.]

[Currently our makeshift base is completely vulnerable to attacks, our ship is mostly inoperable and we lack an energy shield in case they decide invading us, a small probability that is incompatible with the autobot logic. If my calculations are right, we have a small chance to negotiate a truce with them. I asked both of our brutes to warn them about the stability of the system's star, that information is valuable enough to make them reason with us about everyone's survival.]

[As of currently I am waiting for Onslaught to notify me everything that happens in their next encounter, it's the only way to determine our whereabouts in this planet. If we are ever to escape or if it is really our species final moments. Since Cybertron was destroyed I could only think about how this war took everything from us, we have no other choice but to join forces and hope for a new beginning.]

[Shockwave's 324th log, over.]
