Chapter 3 ~ Rex:
We're closing in on the station, so I head to the controls and start slowing the train down. I notice that no matter what I do, the train's speed is not changing at all, it continues to move. "Uh, guys, we have a problem," I said, frantically pressing buttons that didn't work. "What's going on?" Mark said, rushing over to me. "We're gonna have to jump!" "What the hell do you mean?" Mark said, panicked. "JUST GRAB ERZA AND JUMP WHEN I TELL YOU." Erza grabbed her bag as Mark swept her off of her feet. The train door is already open and it's speeding by the station floor. "JUMP NOW!" I yelled as I jumped out of the door, tumbling and rolling. I turned to see that Mark had leaped from the train and shielded Erza from most of the damage. I run over to the tracks and see the train continuing the speed down the tracks. I have no idea where it'll end up and if or when it'll stop or be stopped. Mark and Erza gather themselves and their gear right behind me. I turned around to see a sign pointing to the stairwell. "C'mon, let's get out of here," I said, as I started running to the stairwell. I stopped and held the door open for them and they ran through, but before I could close it, we all stopped when we heard an alarming noise in the distance. It sounded like a screaming man, echoing in the train station. "What the hell is that?" Mark asked, concerned. "I don't know, but we need to get the hell out of here," I said. "But wait, someone could be in trouble, shouldn't we help?" Mark said. "What we should do is mind our business," I said, sternly. "Babe, what do you think?" "Well, if someone is really in trouble, I could help them," Erza said, softly. "See, it's 2 against 1, we have to go investigate." I couldn't argue anymore, I held the door open and Mark and Erza came down and ran through. Following behind them, I could hear the sound getting closer. We ran to the left side of the station and jumped down into the track and climbed up the other side. As we climbed up, we saw three military soldiers and a guy with bright orange hair. We ducked behind a row of seats and watched from afar. The soldiers were shooting at the man as he dodged each bullet. He had a special gauntlet that could launch a sharp blade attached to a chain, he used it to block bullets left and right. "What the hell is going on?" Mark asked. "I don't know, but we better get out there," I said, readying my weapon, but not before Mark pulled me back into hiding. "You have no idea who that guy is, you need to stay out of it." Just then, we peek at the ongoing fight and the amber anomaly launches his blade at one of the soldiers, knocking the gun from his hand. The soldier reaches down for a nearby pipe that has a jagged edge on it. He boldly runs up to the orange oddity and bashes him on the right side of his face, dragging the jagged edge across his ear, ripping half of it off. The marmalade misfit staggered backward, touching where his right ear used to be, grunting in pain. "We have to jump in, he needs help," Erza says, digging for her bandages. "Fine, but we have to make this quick," Mark says, annoyed. I immediately teleported behind the soldiers and sent a dagger through the throat of the first soldier in front of me. I see Erza in the distance leading the apricot aberration back to where Mark was still hiding. The soldiers are now focused on me... but not for long.
Chapter 3.1 ~ Erza:
I quickly grabbed the orange-haired guy and brought him over to where Mark and I were hiding. I immediately sat him down and got out bandages, peroxide, and sutures. I stopped the bleeding with the peroxide and started to stitch up the area. "Hey, I know you, you're from the orphanage," Mark said while I was working. I looked up and realized I recognized him, too. "Hey, you're that kid who transferred in a year before Mark and I left." "Yeah, I guess so. The name's Dokusei." He said, blankly. I stitched up his ear pretty quickly and began to wrap it in a bandage soaked with an antibiotic ointment. "Okay, you should heal up in no time. The sutures are dissolvable so all you have to do is remove the bandages." I told him. "Thanks, or whatever, but I don't need your help. In fact, I would have loved it if you people had never shown up." Doku said, sounding bitter. "Excuse me?! Who do you think you're talking to? She just helped you and you're ungrateful." Mark says, defending me. "Look, I don't know who you people are and we definitely weren't friends back at that infernal orphanage. You don't owe me anything and I don't owe you anything. Just let me be, I don't need your stupid help." He said, frustrated and starting to walk away.
