The crackle of the old gas stove wakes me up. The smell of bacon fills my nose cussing me to try and sit up when an unbearable pain rips through my abdomen. I lay down flat and just wait for someone to notice me. "Ohh you're awake?" Tierna phrases as half of a question and half of a statement.

"Yeah." I croak out.

"Do you need anything?"

"Up." I state. As I swing my legs to the side causing the pain to flare back up. I'm able to right myself with my back to the seat cushions and Tierna helps me up the rest of the way.

"Where do you want to go?"

"I got it don't worry." I say as I take a few small steps trying to get my feet under me. Once they feel almost right I start walking to the bathroom.

I do my business and finish up. With a great struggle and a good deal of pain I'm able to get myself back on my feet. I stumble out back to the couch and plop myself ass first onto the middle of it.

"How are you feeling?" She questions.

"Little sore but nothing bad. Just a head ache."

"That's good. You got assaulted out there last night."

"I feel it."

"So what is your favorite food?"

"Shit. . . I don't know. Probably chicken because I can get it cheap. Oh and can you help me out to the porch."

"Yeah I guess." She side eyes me as she helps me to my feet. I shuffle outside grabbing my cigs on the way out. I get seated on the stool as she sits across on a plastic table. I light up making sure to blow away from her. "So what's your favorite food?"

"Probably pizza but it changes by the week."

"Favorite movie?"

"I don't have one. Yours?"

"Probably the blind side. Maybe Coach Carter."

"I've never seen coach Carter."

"You are missing out."

"What, you're telling me you aren't going to whip out a copy from behind the railing." She says with a stupid smirk.

"I might have a copy of it to be honest."

"Okay. Well what was your dream college?"

"Stanford."

"Don't you have an offer from UCLA?"

"Yeah but I wasn't promised anything from the other colleges except for Colorado."

"Are you even sure you want to go to college. I know plenty of nwsl team are looking at you."

"I don't want to go to college but no teams have reached out to me atleast yet."

"Do you check your email?"

"Well no."

"Check it". She urges walking inside and plucking my phone off the charger.

I thank her for handing me my phone and open my gmail account. That's when I see various clubs from all over the United States and the globe asking for me. The chelsea contract was pulling my eyes the most. Barca hasn't come knocking yet but playing in Europe would help them take a look at me.

So without thinking I send a confirmation email to Chelsea asking if they were still interested. "I think I need to call Dan." I say finally snapping back to reality.

"Wait until you get a sure fire answer for one of the clubs before withdrawing from college."

"Yeah. That's smart." I say lighting one more cig when my email refreshes. I click on the new email from Emma Hayes and read through it.
