" Excuse me, sir. You'll have to go outside with that cigarette. " One of the nurses spoke up from behind the counter.

" Look, I don't mean to be rude and I know you're just doing your job. But, we have been waiting here for almost two hours. My girlfriend's pregnant and we need to see a doctor right away. " Eric explained to her.

" What's your girlfriend's name? " She asked him.

" Angelina Jackson. " He replied.

" Okay, the doctor is just finishing up with his patient and they should call her back there shortly. " She said.

" I can't believe this, I filled out the paperwork and paid the co-pay. Yet, we're still waiting in the same spot. Angel, I'm about to step outside for a minute. " He said.

" Huh? " I stretched my legs and yawned a little bit.

" I can't smoke in here and I need to just step outside for a couple of minutes. If they call you before I get back, go without me. I'll just have to find which room they will have you in. " Eric said.

" Okay, don't stay out there too long. " I said.

" I won't. " Eric quickly kissed me on the lips, smudging some of my lipstick I had on.

" Is this your first time here? " A woman that I didn't know had asked me.

" Yes. " I responded.

" Do you have children? " She asked me again.

" Um, not yet. Well, I am expecting a child. That was my boyfriend earlier that had just left. " I replied.

" Okay, my name is Darcy and what's your name? " I felt as if she was playing 21 questions with me at this point.

" Angelina. But, everyone calls me either Angie or just Angel for short. But, may I ask why are you asking me so many questions? " I asked her.

" I am sorry. I am the doctor you will be seeing this afternoon and usually when I see patients that are young as you are, I rather ask them without your significant other or parents/legal guardian that way you won't feel intimidated to speak in the same room. I also see that you're 17 in this paperwork that you've filled out, how old is your boyfriend? " She asked me.

" None of your damn business. Who are you asking her all of these questions like this? I knew that I shouldn't have left you alone, Angie. " Eric smartly responded back to the doctor.

" Well, I apologize about this. But, I am the doctor that she will be seeing today and I have to ask these questions to see if she is in any danger, like I was telling her before you came in. " She explained.

" I don't get this, what kind of place is this? First, you have us waiting two hours in this lobby full of sick people and now, you're all up in our business like you're her parents. " He told her.

" These patients have been here longer than you have and we have to see them first. I already apologized about making you feel uncomfortable. But, I'm only doing my job. " She said.

" I don't have time for this today, I'm out here missing money for not answering my pager. I could be anywhere else than here with these doctor's all up in my business about what I do for a living. I'm trying to be supportive through all of this for you baby. " He sighed.

" We can go in the back, I need to ask a few more questions, do some blood work and
a couple of test just to see how far along your girlfriend is. " Dr. Bennet said.

We were finally in the doctor office, I laid back letting the doctor perform the physical exam. This had to be the most of uncomfortable thing ever and I couldn't wait for it to be over.
