CHAPTER 6 Anastasia's point of view

Before it all happened.

Anastasia's pov.

A loud rusty metal sound.

I always hear this sound everyday to the point it's like my personal alarm clock every morning.

I went down stairs to prepare breakfast for my two little brothers. As I was preparing the chairs mom walked inside carrying a bag full of meat.

"Mom did you go out hunting again? In the woods!?" I asked with a worried tone.

"Oh you're awake Anastasia?!" Mom said with a surprised face.

"Oh common how can I stay awake with that sound in the background". I said while making a grumpy face.

"Hmm please don't tell your father what I've been doing okay!?" Mom said as she approach me.

"We already talked about this mom, the risk of going alone in the woods... You could encounter a wild demonic shadow on your way." I said this as I hold my mom's hands.

" Common I'm not that weak Anastasia i can manage myself with those things." Mom said.

"But still you can't risk your life just to get meat! We are fine and happy with these potatoes!." I said as i point at the meat she brought.

"But anas-"

I'm telling dad. I interrupted her rudely.

I ran towards dad's room and wake him up and told him about what mom's been up to every morning.

Dad was surprised and angry about her as they argue about going in the woods alone.

She always take a bath last and would leave secretly during the midnight, she wore fancy dresses and have a heavy make ups and would came home tired and haggard looking, I have a hint what's she's been up to all this time.

All of that just to feed us meat.

While they're arguing I went and look for my twin brothers but I got distracted by a ruckus outside. As i approach the group of people i saw them making fun of my two brothers by making them fight each other for meat, just to taste a meat.

I was highly disgusted by what i saw so i shouted at them making their attention focused on me.

My two brothers looked at me with a shocked bruised face.

I cried as i took them both by their hands.

"What are you doing both of you!" I shouted.

Sis you we just want to ha-.

"What is so good about meat huh? To the point that you will start punching and kicking each other just to have a bite!" I interrupted them both.

"We can live happily without those kind of stuff! Meat, money, fame, a big house!" I shouted.

"You don't understand sis, I guess you're contented with this, living in poverty, barely have any food and just potatoes to eat, no good clothes, and a house that's about to fall. Don't you have any dreams of us having a good life and becoming successful in life sis??!?" Twins shouted as they both let go of my arms and ran towards the different direction.

Hey come back! I shouted.

I was sad and devastated and i lost all of my energy for this day.

I sat near a tree and think about what happened earlier. Yes maybe they're right. I don't have a goal or a dream, maybe I'm contented with this life of mine. I'm pathetic.

As I stand up a group of people were running away from the cathedrals direction.

Hey what happened!? I asked a guy that was running pass by.

It's the demons! The demon race attacked us!!! The guy shouted with fears in his eyes.

What!!!! I shouted as i wear my glasses and ran as fast as I could.

I gotta find my brothers.

I ran towards the direction of the cathedral. As soon as I reached the cathedral I was shocked by what I saw.

Group of demons massacring countless of humans like we are some kind of livestock's.

I was stunned by fear, my legs are shaking. The only thing that came in my mind was to run towards the forest to hide.

As I run I saw my home getting raided by the demons but I didn't stopped running because I'm scared that I might get caught and die.

As I looked at my house while running I saw my mother and father getting forced to their knees.

I didn't stopped running and I couldn't look away.

The demons killed both my parents while I ran away without even stopping or going to back. As i entered the forest i trip and fall on the ground..

Scratching my right cheek and accidentally stabbing my right shoulder. I was bleeding.

It was so painful and I covered my mouth using my left arm as I forced my self not to scream.

I cried helplessly, I didn't even tried to aid or help my family. My whole body was covered in fear so I just ran as fast as I can to help my self.

Sorry mom, sorry dad, sorry larc sorry jacen..

I cried and cried silently and then a mysterious man appeared Infront of me.

Black hair and wearing a white tshirt with a hole on the abdomen area, And he was covered by what seems a human blood.

Are you okay? He asked.

As soon as he asked me if I'm okay i ran towards him like I'm used to whenever i saw my dad back from work.

Im sorry mom, dad, glen and jenon. If I knew that this was going to happen I would have cherished the moment  where peace is assured. If only this world isn't so cruel we would've been happy and peaceful.

I will avenge you guys.
