Evelyn groaned, mumbling a come in she was surprised when cormac walked through her bedroom door, looking upset and tired he was supposed to be out with his girlfriend today, which is why Evelyn had planned to stay in her room all day
she sat up in her bed, pulling down the blankets cormacs eyes filled with tears "she broke up with me" he said, not knowing what to do in that moment. Evelyn patted the bed beside her, to which he crawled into happily "babes, it's gonna be okay" she said, placing his head on her chest, playing with his hair
it was cormac and Evelyn against the world, and it always has been since they were kids they spent every waking moment together and even with her drama with kit, Evelyn was hurt the most to leave Cormac.
Cormac and Evelyn were bestfriends, since they were kids they were together always their parents always thought they'd end up together, married, many kids but the two never thought that
Cormac saw Evelyn as his little sister, as someone to protect and be there for whenever necessary Evelyn saw Cormac as a big brother, as someone who she could always confide in with her hurt, or with things she needs advice on.
They could never love each other like that.
Cormac layed in bed with Evelyn, breathing heavily, calming down from his tears
"thank you for being here" he said, sitting up with a small smile "always" she said, holding up her pinky "always" he smiled, locking his pinky with hers
"what if we go out for lunch?" Evelyn asked. Cormac smiled, jumping off Evelyn's bed "let's go then"
