me x mal

We haven't seen each other in so long..

I was on my way to a small cafe down in town. Today was the day my bestfriend, Mal, left town. I miss her so much. This was the last place we've been together.

As I was walking down to the cafe I was using my phone (because I'm stupid duh) and I suddenly felt a figure bump into me.

"Oh my god- I'm so sorry!!" I say, worried. 

I look up and see.. Mal?? What a coincidence.. I was literally just thinking about her. Suddenly, today has became the best day of my life.

"MAL, OH MY GOD!" I exclaimed.

"VIC?? HELLO!!!" She said very clearly surprised to see me. She hugged me.

"HEYYYY!! Oh my god, how are you doing?? We literally haven't seen each other in YEARS. Are you visiting town?" I asked.

"Haha, no actually! I moved back.. I've been having a hard time finding an apartment but I think I'm doing fine! What about you?" She said, still hugging me. I felt my cheeks starting to flush.

She pulled away from the hug. "Y-yeah I'm doing fine actually, thank you for asking!! And you're moving back? I totally didn't expect that, oh my god. Also funny that you mentioned, I'm also looking for an apartment.. and a roommate.. no luck yet though, haha." I laughed.

"Oh really? I mean- we could be roommates? It's pretty sudden for me to ask right away but I mean.. we both can't find apartments so we could look together and split the rent too if we decided to.. y'know.. be roommates?" She asked me with desperation.

The relief. She's literally a life saver right now. "Of course we can! That's literally so perfect, I'm so glad you asked!" I say excitedly.

We just stared at each other for what felt like MINUTES but was actually a few seconds. I felt my cheeks starting to flush again. Her face was also getting red. I quickly looked away, clearly flustered. 

"Alright well I was actually headed down to the cafe, w-would you like to come with me?" I said trying to start another conversation and to save myself from the embarrassment. 

"Y-yeah of course! I would love that actually" She said smiling.

Yep, this is definitely the best day of my life.
