Taehyung POV

The rain was pounding hard onto the small car. The moon illuminated the oak trees on the sides of the road, shadows creating all sorts of creepy shapes. I felt a cool breeze ruffle my hair as the radio host blabbed on and on. Quiet Jazz music rang out around the vehicle, my mother swaying to every smooth sound of the saxophone.

We'd been driving for three and a half hours.

To say the least, my parents had gotten jobs in the city. The ruthless city. Apparently it had been their dream and they immediately wanted to start a new life in Seoul. We were packed up and ready to leave in under a month, and since Appa's mind was still trapped in the olden days, he decided to drive to the city in our tiny automobile.

And guess who had to sit in the back seat with boxes and suitcases towering over him. Me.

I hated all of this. I wasn't given enough time to say goodbye, in fact I didn't even want to say goodbye because my life was perfect. Our strawberry farm produced some of the most luscious strawberries in Daegu and I was one of the most popular boys in my high school. And then some company gave Eomma and Appa stupid office jobs. That meant...

I had to start a new school.

I had to make new friends.

I had to suffer without any girls flirting with me at school.

I had to adjust to a new house, and the large city.

And I couldn't get unlimited, free, juicy strawberries anymore.

"This is all stupid. I wish we never moved," I grumbled quietly, but it was unfortunately loud enough for my mother to hear.

"Tae bear, you know this is a dream for us. I'm sure you'll fit right in," she said, smiling sympathetically.

I nodded, bitterly. We were doing a wonderful job of fitting right in.

"Driving to Seoul in a car packed with things. WOW. So modern of us!" I said, clapping my hands, beaming a fake smile.

Appa sighed and continued driving until we had entered the city. Lights were flashing everywhere and streets were just as busy as they would've been at day. It was 9 PM and shops were still open and thriving. I looked up at the sky from my window, expecting to see stars.

Instead, I saw blackness. Which idiot decided the sky was too pretty so they had to install stupid lights in the city?

While I was staring at nothing in particular, the radio suddenly changed to the news; cackling and fizzing noises erupting from the machine.

"News flash just in. Many children and adults have been disappearing this week in the city of Seoul around the times of 6pm to 1am. Ten more kidnappings have been recorded just now causing panic throughout the towns and suburbs. We advise residents of rural areas to keep an extra eye out as police are working on the mystery now," the radio host informed, and soon enough the smooth jazz had come back on again.

"Let's hope they're not dead yet," I joked, earning a glare from Eomma.

"Poor sweethearts. I heard there's been a new criminal around. Uncommon now, isn't it compared to America,"
