"Hi..Enna solran Romeo??"

"Thank God ! you came. Looks like he fell for the girl the moment she switched off the music." Pavithra explained.

"Music pudikadha ponna??" Ashwin nodded his head in disagreement as he settled in the table for dinner"

"Unakku endha ponna paathalum oru korai. Pesama Pavithra va kalyanam panniko." Rakshan said as he poured batter for another dosa in the stove.

Mumbai, Shivani's room, 10:00 PM

"Paiyan eppadi?? Unakku pudichi irukka?" Manimegalai alias Mani, Shivani 's friend and roommate questioned eagerly.

"He seems good. Decent. Perfect husband material" Shivani said as she settled for her skin care routine.

"Unakku Pudichi irukka nu keten"

"Hmmm..."

"Enna oru feeling eh illaye?" Mani questioned resting her head on her palms lying sideways on her bed.

"I don't anymore reason left to say No to this proposal. Appa is also getting aged. I don't want to be a hindrance to my sister anymore. And ofcourse, Rakshan seems good when compared to the other alliances."

"Indha love, romance, soulmate , have you erased all this from your dictionary"

"We are not kids anymore. Its high time, we come out of our fantasy world. I am going to inform appa about my acceptance. Avlo dhan. Lets sleep. Thookam varudhu. Both of us have work tomorrow." She said and switched off the night lamp letting darkness take over.

Past:

2 months after Shivani joined college in Chennai:

She came out of the shower and settled on the side table of her room. She liked the new college and Akash helped her a lot to settle down. She was slowing picking pace with the things here. She even managed to find some decent friends who helped her share notes that she had missed.

Akash her childhood friend and her secret crush who was one reason she decided to shift to this college. But the major reason to leave her comfortable nest and settle in this unknown place, well she just decided not ponder about that for now.

Writing and music were the 2 strong forces that drove her life. She couldn't believe that she had already written 2 pages of long letter cherishing all the special moments she shared with Akash in the past and why she was head over heels on him.

And about music, it was more like a therapy for her. She was not fond of loud songs that held meaningless words. Well She had no idea that these type of songs would be trending in the future. She believed the soul of the song was in its words, lyrics. As she closed her eyes, Ashwin's torn clothes, his neck band and his loud noise in front of the mic in today's college event came in front of her eyes. Her mood to complete the letter was already gone.

"Pada sonna...kaatu kathu katharan. And the girls are swaying for that. Appadi enna irukku avan kitta.." she murmured.

"Ashwin pathi dhane yosikara ??" Keerthana her roommate asked.

"Che..illaye.." she said as she quickly closed her letter.

Ashwin left to his room , refreshed in his comfortable clothes. He looked at the moon for a few seconds which calmed his racing heart. Making sure he was in his private space, he picked his diary hidden in his closet. His hands started writing the words his heart dictated:

"Theendum un indhazhil, Thithikindra iravil.. Thedal thodanguthadi..." He closed his pen and felt the gentle breeze from the window. He kept his palm on his racing heart and asked "Hmm..Ennamo sambavam irukku. Appadi thane?"

The trees moved its branches as if nodding its head saying "Yes"

Well, character sketch of Ashwin is very easy to explain. Tall with good features. When his 3 years of "LOVE" decided to break up after school, calling him loser for being an old school romantic, he was triggered.

Rulebook of a cool dude is simple:

A man with guitar looks cool. Fine, he learnt to play it.

Romantic songs are not meant for men. Great, he would shout his lungs out.

Flirt with girls but don't get trapped in love. Cool, that is easy.

So Ashwin is that usual good looking man, who is under constant pressure to maintain his public image. But you can lie to the world, not to yourself. We all have many Ashwin's of this kind around us. This diary was the real him that he shoved off from the rest of the world.

He loved writing it down whenever something touched his heart. When he turned the previous page, he noticed that the date was almost an year old. That day why did he suddenly want to write? He couldn't understand. When the entire crowd swayed their bodies , he did notice a petite figure struggling to get out of the crowd as soon as possible. Why did that fascinate him? He couldn't understand this either.

His thoughts were disturbed when he felt Mrs. Meenakshi knock the door calling him for dinner. He closed the note in haste and pushed it into his closet before opening the door for her.

"Annaaa...vera level. You rocked the event today. I am so proud of you" Rithika hugged Ashwin before settling down in the dining table for dinner.

"Thank you Princess"

"Enna dress idellam. Nalla decent ah dress panna koodadha pa?" Mrs. Meenakshi voiced her concern. He just smiled and continued munching his food.

"Amma. Ippo idhu dhan trendu..Anna...yen classmates ellarum unnoda number kettu enna torture panranga. You know my best friend Keerthana? She was almost drooling for you"

Mrs.Meenakshi , not interested in their banter anymore, moved inside.

"Err...Anna...Amongst the crowd, only 1 girl didn't seem fascinated by your performance.

"Yaaru.."

"Adhan Andha Akash oda suthurale..."

"Err...Shivani??" he asked as he munched his dinner.

"Hmm.."

"I don't care about her approval Rithu.."

"That's true.." she replied non chalantly. Ashwin observed her for a few minutes.

"Appuram. Are you OK? I mean, after your breakup with Akash, are you fine?"

"Why are you suddenly asking anna.."

"Illa I notice Akash and Shivani close. I heard they are school friends and I almost see them together always. Adhaan..."

"I am fine anna. I don't care anymore" she said and left the table leaving Ashwin in deep thoughts.

Author's Pen!!

Hi...Actually I am not sure about this work. I am hoping that its going fine for now.  In my previous ff, though messed with life, people were sorted about their relationship. But this is challenging, because, they need to sort their feelings. I am just tying. Please do share your thoughts. It will help me a lot. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

The writings of Ashwin is not my work. But this song kind of inspired me to write again. All credits to Google and Amazon Music!!
