-RING RING-
"Hello," I said as I picked up the phone from my bed. A warm voice spoke, " Hey bro, did ya pick up corsages yet?" I had forgotten that I had ordered corsages the week prior and this morning is the only time to pick it up. Honestly, prom is so expensive, it is worse than Interact merchandise season, where my wallet dries out like a flower deprived of its means of survival. Quickly, I had asked him, " Want to go with me to pick ours up?" He tells me that he will get ready and quickly hangs up the phone. The friend I was on the phone with is a guy named Tony Le. He is roughly about the same size as me, but a little shorter. He is the type of guy that listens to Taylor Swift and complains about his thirst for girls often. Like me, Tony is also attending prom and he has got himself a smoking hot prom date. His prom date was a little younger than he was which was though, about a two year gap. For personal reasons, her name will be Cat in this story. Cat is a sophomore at the school we both attend. She is the ideal perfect prom date and I was pretty surprised that he had the guts to ask her to be his date to prom.
-BEEP BEEP-
Emily: Hey, are you picking me up and what time?
I had received a text message from Emily, she is also my prom date. I had asked her to prom a week prior because I really needed a date to prom. I replied to her saying:
Me: Yeah I'll pick you up at 1:00 P.M.
I was brought down assuming that she wasn't excited. Maybe it was just me, but I quickly shook it off since I know that I should not be making assumptions like that. I made my way for the door and put on my shoes, I left my house and slowly started for the car. Yes, I do drive. I got my drivers license a month before prom to make sure I was able to drive my prom date to prom. Honestly, I would kill myself if my parents had to drive me and my date to prom together. As soon as I got in the car, I drove off to the direction of Tony's house. When I got to his house, he was already walking towards my car holding his tux and grinning suspiciously. He got in the car and closed the door. His short black hair was down to the side and he made sure that he had everything he needed. We drove off to school to pick up our corsages. "Aldwin." he said gently, " It's going to be one of the best nights of our lives." I honestly wished that it would be, but something just kept holding me back from believing in his words. We picked up our corsages and went to Van's house to get ready. When we got there, him and our other friend, Nick, were already dressed and looked ready for prom. "Alright! Condoms for everyone! I know it's prom and us guys will be guys," Van had said exuberantly. I rolled my eyes and said, "Only you would think of that bro, unlike you, I am a passionate guy who values my love and respects women." We changed into our tuxes and rushed into the room downstairs. "Before we go, we should take a squad picture just for memory." Nick said with a deep voice. Nick was a short guy, eyes resembling a black hole, and bulky at his arms. His hair was generic and came up with the point going down towards his forehead. Soon after, we took the picture and left to pick up our dates.
