I sighed as I grabbed my phone before rolling out of bed for the day. I got dressed and headed downstairs, I ran my fingers through my hair letting out a sigh as my drunken dad waved me off.
Ever since Mom left us for some rich guy...Dad's been drinking every minute of every hour.
At least my pain would be over soon...hopefully
I looked up as I got out of my house and put a smile as Sabrina, my best friend came to greet me.
"Hey Elijah!" She said with such a smile that brightened my mood. I just smiled and waved. "Your dad still drinking?" Her voice sounded sad with concern
"Yea, but I'm used to it by now..." I said nervously
She scrunched her nose at my response. "Anyways...you ready for the test today?"
"Test? What test?!" I questioned with fear I my eyes.
She laughed at me as I thought around worried. She probably noticed the confused look on my face because soon after she started laughing hysterically.
I gave a glare towards her as she continued. "God You're so evil" I snarked.
She giggled "You're so gullibile!"
I sighed as we got to school, this nice walk over as the popular girls strutted towards us. I rolled my eyes.
"Heyy Elijah~" Grace said smiling when she saw me.
Tsk...grace was the most popular girl in school because her dad was the ceo of some stupid company I didn't care to even know.
Grace's smile faded as she saw Sabrina. "You know Elijah, you could hang around someone less...poor"
I just bit my tongue as I saw Sabrina walk past us.
"You know Grace you can be a bit more nicer to her" I snarked.
Sabrina just held her head down avoiding contact with Grace.
"Why would I be nice to someone who's poorer than me?" She scoffed
I glared down at her "then why are you being nice to me?"
"Because you're handsome, duh! Unlike this witch you walk with everyday. You know you should really just dump her and hang out with us" Grace said with a smirk on her face.
That must've hit a nerve because Sabrina just ran past them crying, my hands turned to fists as I could feel my blood begin to boil.
"You're the witch here Grace" I said angrily "Now leave me and Sabrina alone!"
I stormed off seeing the unhappy look on Grace's face. My mind was stuck on one thing and that one thing alone...
