Eight years later...

We crossed into the High Moutain Pack territory. As we drove through the forest, heading to our new home. I looked out the window to see the two-pack border control members running beside my mom's car.

"Mom, slow down. There are people from the pack running beside us."

"Thank you for telling me."

My mom pulled over and parked the car on the side of the road. I watched as one of the wolves walked behind the tree and shifted back into her human form. She looked like she was in her mid-thirties, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

When she was close to the car, I pushed the car window button to bring it down so we could hear her talk. She crouched down to meet our level and began to speak.

"Hello, you must be Abigail and Raven."

"Yes, that's us," my mom said.

"My name is Sharon. I was sent here by Alpha Ben. I'm supposed to give you this," she handed me an envelope, "and to welcome you and your daughter to the pack."

"Thank you."

"Have a nice night."

"Thank you, and you too."

"I'll try," my mom laughed, "bye now." Sharon backed away, and my mom drove away. "Can you open the letter and read it for me?"

I nodded yes and opened the letter to read, "Dear Abigail and Raven, I am sorry I wasn't there to greet both of you. I hope you will accept my invitation to dinner on Sunday at 6:00 a.m. My information is below; please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you.
- Alpha Benjamin Jackson"

"That was nice of him."

I didn't say anything. I placed the note on my lap and stared out into the forest. As I watched an owl fly through the top of the tree, I sighed.

I could see in the dark. You may have thought, aren't werewolves supposed to see in the dark?

Well, I'm not like any other werewolf. I am a hybrid, half-demon, and half-werewolf. In other words, the werewolf community would like to call me Demon Wolf or Shadow Wolf.

I could see in the dark. The animals appear light brown. Even the bugs appear a light grey color. A werewolf seems a different color depending on its ranking. Royal wolves appear either white or gold. A rogue appears in a medium red color.

As for a pack, it differs. The Alpha family appears as an emerald color. The Beta family appears dark blue. The third in the command family appears as dark orange. Each one who holds the title and the next in line to take their spot has a shadow that's like a fire coming off their light. Other creatures, such as witches, vampires, hybrids, and so on, have their colors.

Once they were close to me, I could see their actual forms as if I were looking at them with human eyes. My dad told me that the reason why we have different colors would differ from their standings.

I have other powers, such as healing, the element of fire, plants, and weather. I could summon shadows and hear other people's thoughts; I could tap into any mind link or teleport, and sometimes, I could listen to the shadows talking to me.

I had to learn how to control my powers at a young age and fight in my human and werewolf forms. My dad taught me everything he could before he gave up his life to save my mom and me.

You see, it was forbidden for my mom to mate with my dad because of what I could become. The last hybrid-like me who ever existed left a scar on this world.

Carson Consaga, a Prince of Demon Lord and Alpha King of the Red Moon Kingdom, brought terror within every werewolf soul. He destroyed packs if they weren't with him. Some say that by looking at him, they saw their deaths. My mom told me he died at the hands of both his parents. His mother was sentenced to death while his father was locked away.
