As dawn approached, Ronin and his band of men gathered their supplies and prepared for their journey back to Saida. King Lir, along with many townsfolk, gathered to give their thanks to the brave men of Saida before they headed home. Celeste also gathered her items to leave, as the men agreed to secure a horse to carry her home on. Celeste and Ronin, prior to their departure, woke Molly and Schmendrick to bid them farewell. "It was a pleasure to help you guys out," Ronin said. "That is one brave unicorn for attacking the Bull the way she did, and I was proud to get to charge onto the beach after her. You are welcome in my town any time you would like." As Ronin finished speaking, Celeste ran up to Molly and embraced her. "I will miss you Miss Grue. If I do not see that unicorn again, please send my best wishes to her. It was a thrill to finally see one, as I'm sure it will never happen again." After their long embrace, Molly wiped away a tear running down her cheek, as she was upset to see the beautiful young maiden return to her land.
While the sun was rising, and after everyone said their tearful goodbyes, the people of Saida finally started their venture back to their homeland, proudly charging down the roads on their steeds. Molly and Schmendrick waved goodbye to Ronin and Celeste as they rode away, and Schmendrick quickly hollered to them "Take care, we hope to see you again one day!" Then, their figures became shadows as they drew further away from Arran, until they were no longer visible.
Now, all that was left was Molly, Schmendrick, and the unicorn. Seeing they had not departed, Lir quickly caught Molly and Schmendrick to speak with them. "Please, feel welcome to reside in my kingdom. We will provide you with meals and a warm home. You have done great deeds for myself and my people, so we owe it to you. I will have the women prepare you a home immediately, if you choose to stay. There is also plenty of room for your horses in the stables as well. As for the unicorn, I have already welcomed her to live in the forest outside the town."
Molly and Schmendrick conversed with one another for many minutes after Lir made them that offer. They both decided that they could not pass such a wonderful deal up, and wanted to stay with Lir and all his kind citizens. "We will gladly stay here," Molly said hurriedly, excited to accept Lir's offer. "Please, your majesty, show us to our quarters when they are prepared." Hearing Molly's answer, and seeing Schmendrick's eagerness in his expression, Lir let a smile spread across his face. He was pleased to have his long lost friends living in his kingdom with him. Quickly, he had their new living quarters prepared, and had their horses led to the stables by one of the men of Arran.
As he was walking back to his castle after getting Molly and Schmendrick settled into their new home, Lir caught sight of a bright white figure flashing past him. He paused to look, then realized it was the unicorn, racing as fast as day around the edge of town. He fell to his knees and began to weep, overwhelmed with joyous emotions that the unicorn was still there. Then, as he knelt on the ground, Lir felt something warm touch his shoulder. He looked up to see the unicorn standing over him, watching. "I will stay here, like you offered. I am going to keep the trees green and animals protected, and stop by the town every now and then. Thank you for everything, your majesty. Your acts of kindness will not be forgotten."
As the unicorn finished speaking, Lir got to his feet and watched as the unicorn prepared to return to the forest. Molly and Schmendrick also gazed upon her from the window in their new home, bidding one last farewell to their friend, as she would most likely not return to the town for a long time. Then, the unicorn in all her majesty, reared onto her hind legs and whinnied loudly, with the noise proudly echoing throughout the land. Then, she took one more look at the town, and galloped off to the woods that she would now call home.
Once the unicorn was inside of the forest, everything turned green and soft, as if it were spring there. All animals in the woods bowed down as the unicorn walked past them, taking in her majesty. As night fell upon the kingdom, and the unicorn lay peaceful in her new home, the universe breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone left their era of unrest, and began this new journey, eager for their new beginnings.
