It stands in salute to her, the once friend,
The little girl who loved it from first sight…
Yet it has company; the others and
Her grandchildren… Older now, with children
Of their own… It will never be alone…
Yet Gail has gone, her parents too, so to
Are her own children… Yet it stands with friends…
It stands, as a memory to all of
Them… It stands with majesty, which captures
All eyes, young or old... All seasons, from spring,
Summer, autumn, through to winter, it stands
With timeless spectacles of love, kindness,
Humanity and joy as its rewards…
It stands, as a memory to its friends…
