It's been a week since Naruto joined the team and if he was being honest it was putting a slight strain on him. Well that was an understatement but also besides the point. The constant practices and after school games and the tournaments on the weekends. He was feeling more and more tired as the time dragged on. But he loved it. He suffered but he loved it. It was all worth it. The cheers after a goal, the battle with the other team, the contact and collisions when fighting over the ball. He loved it all. And Sasuke was always at every game. No matter how far the drive or how long they would be there. He was always a constant.

Of course there were problems with that. Seeing as Neji wasn't exactly a joy to be around at all. Although he was more quiet after Sasuke has snapped at the tryouts. Neji didn't seem to like Naruto getting attention, positive attention from other people and being the team captain sometimes gave Neji an upper hand during arguments at the games.

But that all changed one night at a pizza place after a soccer game.

The tapping on a glass cup had caught all the boys' attention and led them to see the coach standing up on a tabletop.

"As you know we have the team captain be the best player on the team with the most leadership skills. So far our captain has been Neji Hyuuga. I would like to announce that for the first time in ten years we have a new rule. Co-captains. Naruto Uzumaki, you and Neji shall share the title of Co-Captains."

The coach jumped down from the table and cheers filled the old pizza place. Pats on the back and ruffled hair followed the announcement for Naruto. He couldn't stop smiling and laughing. He did it! He's one of the best!

Sasuke grabbed Naruto's hand under the table and the two smiled at each other. Naruto couldn't help but think that maybe, maybe Sasuke was a saint. How could this stupidly thick headed stubborn kid come into his shitty life and fix everything? Make Naruto's life everything he had ever dreamed of?

Hope. Sasuke had given Naruto hope and happiness. But those could easily be crushed. And Neji knew just how to do it.
