Sydney POV:

"Sydney" mum yells from the living room "Can you take Zara to school today, I have to be at work early." "Sure." I say as she kisses my forehead and leaves. "Come Zara." I call out. We both jump into the car. I only got my license a few weeks ago, so I am very careful about driving with my sister. I start driving and ask my sister if she's excited for her 11th birthday next week. "YES! I've been waiting for like 6 months for it." She replies.

We are driving down the high way when I see a car driving in the wrong lane. I move into the opposite lane and think to myself that they must be a drunk driver. We're about 3 meters from the car when things turn to the worst. The car comes into the lane we are in and crashes into us. Everything goes black.

Next thing I know there are things beeping and I'm contented to all these machine's, my mum is by my side sobbing at the fact I've woken.

Mum POV:

I stare at my daughter through tears. "Oh my gosh, darling I didn't know if you would ever wake. I going to call the doctor." "Mum what happened to me, is Zara okay?" Sydney asks. I don't answer, I'm trying not to think about her little sister.

I push the call button and the doctor comes in. He does a few tests to make sure she's okay, thank god she has nothing serious. "Apart from her broken femur and humerus she's okay." The doctor says after the examination. "If only Zara was this lucky." I mutter under my breath and try not to cry. "What do you mean?" Sydney asks me. "I'll give you two a moment" the doctor says as he walks out of the room.

I sit on Sydney's bed and take a deep breath. "Sydney, I'm afraid Zara didn't make it- "No, NO! ZARA!" She says in tears. "She had bad bleeding in her brain and liver." I say while crying as well. "THIS IS ALL MY FAULT, WHY DIDN'T I GET OUT OF THE WAY OF THE DRIVER!" "Sydney, it's not your fault it's the drunk drivers fault. He's been arrested and will be in prison for years." I say trying to comfort her. "Jail time doesn't make any difference Zara is still dead!" Sydney says hysterically. I hug her and we cry until the doctor comes back in a few moments later.

"Can I go see my sister." She says still crying. "Unfortunately Zara never made it to hospital, she died on the scene so she is at the morgue-" "W-w-what's a morgue?" Sydney says after she's stoped crying as much. "A morgue is where the keep body's before the do autopsy." He explains. "Can we go see her?" She asks looking up at me. "Sorry to interrupt, but you can't leave the hospital for 1 week just to make sure your okay." He says.
