When My World Came Crashing Down

As the pedestrian light turned green, people rushed to get to the other side. A place where you can see tall buildings, people burying their heads in their rectangular devices and some just walking around. The busy streets were crowded with vehicles honking their way in the traffic to get to their workplace. Monday’s are really something else. Snapping out of my reverie I saw someone get stuck in the middle of the road as the light turned red. And as if everything was in slow motion, I ran through the almost empty pedestrian lane and pushed her out of the way. I wanted to get out of the road but my feet stayed rooted to the ground. I couldn’t help but close my eyes and brace myself for impact.

For a split moment I saw my whole life flash before I hit the rough ground feeling my bones crack from the impact. I wanted to shout for help but I was too weak to do so. I could only fight to try and keep my eyes open to stay alive.

I heard the loud sirens of the ambulance coming near me. With the small energy I have left I managed to flash a small smile before finally closing my eyes. They’ll save me. I hope so.

Then, a green light appeared with a warm atmosphere just like I’m about to go to heaven. Am I dead? I hope not. But on the second thought why is the light green? Every movie that I watched are all white and the golden gate would open up widely to welcome up the dead.

However, there’s an elegant girl standing in front of me with a beautiful and gentle smile. Is she an angel? But how come she doesn’t have wings? Confused I sat up and threw a confused look towards her. She looked at me flashing a brighter smile than before and muttering a thank you.

“Thank you for saving me.” Suddenly a memory of a truck hitting me flashed in my head. So, she was the one I saved.

“If I saved you then why are you here? Aren’t I dead?” I asked confused

“No silly, you are dead but I felt guilty so I brought you to my world. You mortals call it fantasy world but it’s called Pied Piper.” She shrugged.

I stayed silent, confused from all the happenings. I couldn’t understand a single thing that came out of her mouth.
“Yeah! As if I believe you…” I said before puffing out air from my mouth.
“Look around silly.”
I tore my gaze and looked around. I saw dragons flying around the place, on the other side was a family of rabbits having some tea together with a girl.
“Do you believe me now?” she asked while crossing her arms against her chest.”
“So, if you brought me here when I’m dead, that means this is reincarnation?” I asked to have a clearer explanation in my head.
“That’s right”, she said while smiling.
“Then if it’s reincarnation, then what am I?” I asked.
“Well, you’re just an ordinary person.” She replied, chuckling.
“WHY? That’s not fair…”
“Well there’s a slight change from you.” She laughed.
“Really? What is it?” I asked before turning around.
"It's a secret."
