"I'll answer that after I show you around," she then lightly pulled my arm and led me through the place. This world looked ethereal to me. I wanted to stay forever.
"Wow! Is that lagoon real?" I gasped as I turned towards the blue-green lagoon.
She just nodded and smiled. "Yes, its where adorable baby turtles swim around and play." It's still a lot to take in. I walked closer and witnessed the turtles seemingly playing tag, water-version.
"Is there anything else you want to show me?" I continued walking and what she said next made me stop on my tracks.
"Actually, yes. I'll take you somewhere close to home." That line made me curious. We walked through a forest and we arrived at an old, yet beautiful cottage. A familiar one, at that.
"Have I been here before?" I scanned the surroundings and felt very nostalgic.
"I guess you have. When you were still alive." I followed her inside and saw pictures of my life, my childhood. I can feel my eyes welling up with tears, one rolling down my face. My heart ached for some reason. "Is there a reason you brought me here?" I asked while wiping my tears.
She sighed, "I want you to remember this part of your life. Your childhood has one of the most important things that will help you out soon. Trust me on this one." "Okay," that's all I could say.We left the cottage and headed to an arcade. Can you believe it? There's an arcade in this world! Very unexpected!
There were people, dragons, monkeys, rabbits and unicorns in the arcade.
A monkey ate banana while jumping up and down, shooting a ball in a basketball hoop. It scowled and its eyebrows met after missing the last one. I laughed at the sight. Next, I saw a group of unicorns dancing on a dancing machine. One accidentally hit their friend and she winced, closing her eyes from the pain. I watched the unicorn bowing 60○ and apologizing for almost thirty minutes.
Amidst the crowd, I saw an unfathomably handsome man. He looks just around my age. Deep brown eyes, plump pinkish lips, sharp jaw, fair nose and hazel-brown hair. He was like a charcter from Greek mythologies, he was so surreal. I held my breath, I felt butterflies as soon as we locked eyes. He was heading to my direction. And I stood there frozen."H-hi," he said and blushed.
"Umm...hi. I'm Gabrielle Snow. You can call me Brielle." Phew, I fiddled with my fingers, trying to contain my erratic heart. I felt heat creep up my cheeks when he smiled so sweetly. I started fanning myself, trying to lessen the heat."I'm Nathan Winter. We both have winter-related names." He chuckled, staring straight into my eyes, drawing me in those rich-brown orbs. "Pftt..haha. Yeah we do. What a coincidence!" I covered my mouth, struggling to hold in a laugh.
"Uh... you wanna take a walk?" His eyes shimmering with hope.
"I'd love to," I blushed. I once again felt those butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
I told the woman I saved what happened and she told me to go. "You might experience something special," she said genuinely smiling.
"Thank you. Really."We went outside the arcade and started following a path to a nearby beach. The white sand tickled my toes, the water glittered against perfectly aginst the sun. We sat down on the sand and began having what I would say the best conversation we both had in our lives.
"I may not look like it, but I'm an introvert. People always assume I'm extroverted because I am more friendly than most people. But to be honest, just listening and observing means so much more to me." He shared and I unconsciously half-smiled.
"Me too. I also find meaningful and honest conversations more precious than small talk." I agreed. He went silent and I see him with a jolly smirk."You know what? For some reason, I feel calm and safe around you," he muttered. My heart felt happy and warm hearing that.
"Thank you. I feel comfortable around you too. And we literally just met an hour ago." I'm amazed. After that, I told him about my life- my past life. He shared about his adventures and hobbies. He loves climbing mountains and singing.Today was a good day. I hope this moment never ends.
