I sighed looking at the stupid stuff laid out on my bed, I suppose this is what I wanted. We got a call last week saying one of the kids from Hardwicks was moving away meaning they had an opening in that year. Of course like everyone in the area' when I went from primary to secondary put in my application to go to Hardwicks but got nothing more than a waiting list so, of course, I went to my second choice Litwicks. But apparently, I was pretty high on the list because when this kid moved away they offered me a place I didn't even need to think about it of course I wanted to go. So I had the admittedly stuffy uniform on my bed laid out for my first day, Luckily I wouldn't be alone as George goes to Hardwicks so at least I'd get to spend time with him alot more. I got dressed for the day making sure to look presentable and professional given it was my first day. Into my well Polished black shoes, my black trousers, and The belt from the school with black and blue candy cane-like stripes around it, My black button-down shirt, my blue and black striped tie and my blue blazer with the school emblem on the breast pocket, I grabbed my stuff for the day heading down to the kitchen and grabbing a bit of toast.
"Paul," My dad spoke up as he had his coffee
"Yeah?"
"Good luck today"
"Thanks, dad"
"And have fun," He says messing with my hair
"Hey, dad" I complained fixing my hair again "I've gotta go, don't wanna be late"
"See you later"
"See ya dad"
I quickly got out of the house and down the path where George was waiting for me at the gate
"Ooohhh look at you Hardwick Boy" He laughed "Give us a triwl"
I did so and he laughed at me "what?" I asked
"Your tie is fucked, come here. They'll give you detention if you're tie is fucked up" He explained undoing my tie and fixing it for me
"Cheers George. Come on or we'll be late"
"Relax. They start time they tell you is gates open. We have like ten minutes of yard time before they actually call for form time" he explained as we began to walk "I think your in for a right culture shock"
"Why?"
"Well, Hardwicks can be rough. And it's very different from Litwicks"
"How so?"
"Lot of little rules and stuff""I know. I'll be fine. Besides, you'll give me a hand right George?"
"I might. Or I'll fuck you up" he smirked "Ohh" he spoke up as we got close to the school "Also. Litwicks was boys only right?""Yeah, all-boy school."
"... yeah. Culture shock"
"What girls being around?"
"Yeah. Don't stare" He smirked
I wasn't sure exactly what he meant? But when we arrived at Hardwick's gates were already open many people stood in the large yard chatting in their friend's groups we went to the wall near the back and George started talking to a bunch of his friends I couldn't help but glance around at the place I had been so eager to get to.
And... I got what he meant.
I spotted a girl, She stood there across the yard close to the bike shed. In the little black shoes, most of the other girls were wearing, she had knee-high black and blue socks, a blue plaid skirt that honestly was uhhh high enough that it exposed skin between her skirt hem and socks, a black button-down with buttons rather uihhh tight to conceal her, the same black and blue tie as everyone else, and a black blaze over her bag the sleaves of her skirt rolled to her elbows showing the girls shirts had the school logo on the shirt breast pocket too. Her hair was in this beautifully sculpted well rolled style with a blue plaid bow in her hair, she had to make up on too blue eye shadow and black eyeliner not sure about anything else but I could tell most girls wore makeup, this girl stood there having a cigarette.
"I did tell you not to stare paul" He laughs
"Just uhhhh-"
"Culture shock"
"A little." I nodded "she's.... She's beautiful"
"I knew you'd have a heart attack looking at all the pretty girls moving my head physically so I looked away
"Girls can wear makeup here?"
"Yeah,"
"Hu. Interesting how the girls unfirm is sort of... flipped from the boys"
"Yeah, it's mostly for the teachers they know who's who."
"I can see that I imagine it makes it alot easier to spot boys and girls.. Snuggling"
"Ohh it does." he nods
".... are they allowed to smoke?"
"The girls?""Yeah."
"Yep. boys too."
".... I had to buy a specific unfirm belt. And do my tie a specific way. But smoking is fine?"
"There excuse is. They treat us like adults and if we choose to smoke they won't stop us, that and it calms you down keeps you concentrated and thin" he explained
"Tell that to john"
"To be fair john abuses it. No, it's fine here." he shrugs "Who are you looking at anyway?"
"I uhh I don't know" I shrug"Oooohhh. Y/n" He smirked "eyes off. She'll kick your ass new kid or not"
I couldn't help looking at her something about her just... captivated me even with so many other girls I just couldn't help staring at her I saw a guy go up behind her and slap her ass, she rolled her eyes taking a long drag from her cigarette before grabbing the boys arm rubbing her still burning cigarette into the hand he slapped her ass with he ended up almost crying from the pain before she let him go.
I was about to speak but the bell rang "Come on I'll take you to form" he says
